They thought they had escaped, but then a large badger attacked them. During the beginning of the fight, he was badly injured with his left right leg crushed and a gash on his side. Fallenleaf and her mentor (Kestrelfeather) managed to save him, but the badger killed his daughter's mentor before the rest of his kits could chase the badger off.
