Cypress nodded with agreement, his eyes narrowing. "Neither do I but we can't predict everything that's going to happen. The battle tomorrow, for instance. We're going to have to look out for each other."

Kestrelflight stiffened, fur bristling. He studied Tinyfang and Sweetpaw carefully, mind racing. "Tinyfang, go back to camp." He ordered quietly. "Sweetpaw, can you hear anything else?"

Otterpaw blinked sympathetically at Lozen. "Atleast they're happy." She murmured, trying to cheer her up.

Cleareye nodded, "No you shouldn't. He can handle himself." She said. "Now are you clear on the plan?"

lozen nodded. "our allagince have to be to each other, as well as this clan but i am most worried about keeping you and laurel safe," she said to him. "if i would have know we were going to be plunged right into battle i would have waited to join this clan," she said to him with a sigh, feeling like a failure.

tinyfang nodded. "okay," he said then rushed back across the thunderpath and towards camp. he burst into camp and looked at her clanmates guarding the camp. "i need to talk to skystar and aspentail, this is urgent," he said.

sweetpaw shook her head. "i can't maybe if i get closer i could," she said.

ash nodded. "well i wasn't summoned to you to show you my kits, i'm here to warn you. when rose meets sky the petals will wither," she said before started to fade away.

petalfall nodded. "yes," she said to cleareye.

Cypress flicked his tail, his eyes grim. "Same. Well what's done is done. Tomorrow we'll fight. Nothing we can do about it."

Laurel was one of the cats guarding camp. "Alright, I'll send Aspentail to Skystar's den." She told Tinyfang and went to talk to the deputy. Not long after that, the orange tabby tom headed into Skystar's den, after giving Tinyfang a curious look.

Kestrelflight narrowed his eyes. They could get a bit closer without being seen. "Come on then." The brown tabby crept quietly closer.

Otterpaw's fur began bristling, alarmed. "Wait! What does that mean?" As Ash faded away, Otterpaw woke up with a start. Fear shot through her pelt. She needed to talk to Skystar right away.

"Good." Cleareye nodded. "Then I will see you tomorrow night." She faded out of sight.

lozen nodded. "you're right," she said to cypress. she sighed. "we have to do our best and prove our loyalty to this clan," she said to him. "and, of course, to each other," she said.

tinyfang nodded and waited for the leader and deputy. his feet pricked with anticipation and he felt as if a moonclan cat could be lurking behind him right at that moment.

skystar heard footstep and looked up to see her deputy. "what is it, aspentail?" she asked him.

sweetpaw nodded then crept behind him. she flicked her ear, trying to hear something, anything.

"Our loyalty to each other has been proved time and time again." Cypress pointed out. "I'd trust you and Laurel with my life."

"Tinyfang's returned. He says he needs to talk to us." Aspentail told her. Aspentail hadn't been too pleased about being woken up but the urgency he'd seen on Tinyfang's face had worried him. He turned at the sound of pawsteps and was greeted by Otterpaw. He frowned, noting the look on her face.

Otterpaw leapt to her paws, tabby fur bristling. The apprentice raced out of the den, darting towards Skystar's den. "I need to talk to you Skystar!" She barely glanced at Aspentail, her attention fixed totally on her leader.

Kestrelflight studied the moonclan cats warily. They were far enough away that he and Sweetpaw wouldn't be noticed but could hear their conversation better.

lozen nodded. "your right, like always, but theirs no reason to not prove it again," she said to cypress. "we should probably hurry to camp if we want to get any sleep tonight," she said.

skystar looked at the mouth of her den and saw tinyfang and otterpaw with aspentail. "they can come in," she said. "alright, otterpaw, you go first," she said.

tinyfang walked into the leader's den and waited for otterpaw to say what she had to say.

sweetpaw flicked her ear and listened in. "one said they would send their apprentices and one of their warriors to scout out our territory and then come back to get everyone else," she told kestrelflight.

Cypress shrugged. He had no reason to doubt Lozen and Laurel's loyalty. "Yeah, I'm exhaus-" His words were cut off by a huge yawn.

Otterpaw nodded, her gaze serious and worried. "I had a dream from Starclan." She said. "A cat named Ash spoke to me. She said she was Tinyfang's mother." Otterpaw glanced at the warrior and then looked back to Skystar. "She told me 'when rose meets sky, the petals will wither.' That's when I woke up." Otterpaw said.

Aspentail frowned, fixing the apprentice with a serious expression. Why had Starclan chosen to tell this to an apprentice? Surely they would've told Bluemoon instead?

Kestrelflight shook his head, warning her to be quiet. They'd gotten close enough he could hear without Sweetpaw's help, but they needed to be careful so they weren't noticed. He thought, half listening to the warriors conversation, half forming a plan. They had to do what they could to stop Moonclan's attack.

lozen smiled a bit. "i can tell," she said. the camp was starting to come into view. "we have to sneak back in," she whispered, trying to make sure no one could hear her.

skystar blinked. "ash gave you a prophecy? that's quite odd," she said. she had no idea what it meant. "maybe you should take to bluemoon," she told otterpaw. she looked over to tinyfang. "go ahead, tinyfang," she said.

tinyfang nodded. "kestrelflight, sweetpaw and i made it to the moonclan camp and sweetpaw overheard their plans to attack us tonight," he told the deputy and leader.

sweetpaw looked over at kestrelflight. "what should we do?" she asked him in a hushed voice.

Cypress frowned, confused. "Why? Every cat saw us leave. " The tabby tom whispered, giving her a quizzical look.

The tabby apprentice nodded, running to Bluemoon's den. Her fur pricked with mixed feelings of excitement and fear. The realization that she'd been given a prophecy from Starclan. Only Bluemoon and Skystar had met with Starclan before. Sweetpaw'd be so jealous when she found out,

Aspentail narrowed his eyes. "What did you hear?" He prompted, waiting for him to explain.

Kestrelflight eyed Sweetpaw thoughtfully. She looked old enough to be able to handle what he had in plan. "We need to stop them from scouting out our territory."
