Unlike our shows, the agility competitions rely more on the physical side of things. Those at the top of their physical game flourish in these competitions. They require great endurance and more than a little skill. This competition asks a lot of it's competitors and only reward those who deliver. These competitions have the potential to be a range of things but are most commonly art or writing.
This is the first competition we here at SCS have set up for our community so let me explain a few rules.
Rules:
--> This particular competition is for canines only.
--> Follow all of CS rules.
--> Follow all of SCS rules.
--> Don't complain if you don't get the position you want.
--> Don't beg the judges for a better position.
--> Don't span the thread.
--> One post per person. Just go back and update it as you add more things.
--> If you want to talk about your entries do it on the Fan Club thread.
--> This is only for those who have adopts from SCS.
--> If you have more than one canine only enter one.
Alright, now that those are out of the way, let me explain the competition itself.
Since this is a canine agility competition it will be based around art or writing. You may choose one or the other as your main focus. For the subject you do not choose, you may do something small. For example, if you choose art, you may do, at most, a 250 word story. And if you choose writing, you may only add one small art piece.
For the main subjects, if you choose writing, you may submit a story up to 2000 words or a series of stories adding up to the same amount. If you do art you may do up to 5 art pieces.
The winners will be chosen by the staff here at SCS based on how well we think you hit the subject of the competition.
If you don't win, don't worry. Everyone will get points just for entering. You can cash these points at the shop, located on the information thread, by PMing with with what you want.
The points awarded are as follows:
1st - 60 Credits
2nd - 50 Credits
3rd - 40 Credits
Honorable Mention - 30 Credits
For Entering - 10 Credits
For our first competition the subject will be as follow:
I want you to either write or produce art of your canine companions first time on the agility course.

Shion is the one I will be using [the only one I currently owned when I posted this]
The young gray and darker gray dog barked as he was roused by his owner, the young redhead humming and smiling as she glanced down at the dog then smiled and pet his head for a moment. Her mother smiled as she nudged the girl to go, and the Autistic girl sighed as sometimes she wished she could drive but at a time like this was glad she didn't yet. She giggled as the husky mix sat up, because the dog reached up and licked her face then barked again and wagged his tail. He huffed as he was clipped up [the leash was clipped onto his collar, in other words] and his tail flicked downward as his ears flicked and nose twitched, being led to the area where dogs could be taken to wait and or to relieve themselves. Shion huffed and yawned twice, feeling the nervous energy from his girl rolling off in waves at the thought of all those other competitors watching them, and whined as he placed a paw on her arm. The girl jumped, then blinked as she looked down at Shion and softly said "Sorry boy. Making you nervous, aren't I?" The husky mix tipped his head to the side as he looked at her, then yipped and shook his head.
He perked his ears and waved his tail once, twice, then a third time, before lowering it as a wolf or herding dog might, eyes soft as he looked up at her again. He shuddered his skin a bit, the fur prickling slightly, nipping at the fly that flew off of his back and past his nose then pawing the ground as she led him over further, deciding to go to the bathroom if it would please her, only. That, and he realized now that he actually really needed to go. As soon as he was finished, he was led back to where they had been waiting before, and watched his girl as she took out the paper that showed how this course was set up, knowing she was probably trying to memorize the set up so they would at least do somewhat well anyway. He snapped his attention away from the other dogs when she crinkled the paper, then perked his ears as the fourth or fifth dog made their way out to take on the course. Shion and Jessica were had the tenth number, so they had a little bit of time to wait now. The dog tilted his head as one of the other competitors, a beautiful tri color border collie, woofed and wagged her tail, the dog walking over and sniffing him as she was on a long leash, then whining as she was pulled back from him. This dog left for the course after the fifth dog came back, then the German Shepherd whom was #7 left to go take his turn, after #6 returned. #8, a lovely red and white Icelandic Sheepdog, barked as she was led off to take on the course next, and Shion yawned and flicked his tail as he looked over at the other dogs.
The eighth dog returned from her run after about 5 minutes or so, and #9, a Karelian Bear dog, barked as they went off with their person to tackle the course. Shion could feel his girl getting nervous again, and he sighed softly as he yawned and huffed. The ninth dog returned, and now it was Jessica and Shion's turn to go out on the course...Jessica took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself, though she knew it might not help like it did for less stressful and nerve wracking things. Shaking her head, the redhead hummed as she led the dog out onto the course, and had him wait as he was supposed to, then they were given the Go. She hummed to herself as she said "Jump!" then "Tunnel!" then "Jump!" and so on until they reached the pause box. She had been using the commands "Freeze" and "Pause" both, because he was smart enough to know they were for the same thing, and now she said "Freeze." and he stopped on the pause box and stayed, then she said "Slalom!" then "Jump!" again, then "Seesaw!" and so on until they came to the last jump. The dog kept quiet as he leaped over it, then panted and barked happily as she led him from the ring set up with the course. She shivered as they waited for the results, having maybe four other dogs after them, then the announcer came back on the PA system to announce the results.
As it was their first time, they had gotten seventh in the rankings, which did not get them a ribbon but was pretty good for their first try on the course. Jessica smiled as she motioned Shion to jump up into her arms, and softly said "You did good boy, you did good." He yipped and wagged his tail as he appeared to nod at her, licking her lightly, and they walked off to find the car and go home, after Shion got treats and more praise.
