Eagle looked up at the male cat, shivering a bit. "I-Im only 6 m-moons old..i-im j-just a runt in m-my old family....t-that's why im so t-tiny." He recieved a voice crack on that last word, shivering a bit as he though about the other word. Runt...he didn't like that word. He glanced back up at the male, feeling his whole body on the floor.

Riverstar's guess was right - Eagle was old enough to be an apprentice. Since he was just six moons, he probably had minimal training in his Clan, so Riverstar worried about the chances of him surviving on his own. Then the thought occured to him. They could take him in. What would the rest of the Clan think, though? If they happened to feel so strongly against it, there was the possibility of Riverstar being murdered. If the murderers had done it once, they could do it again. But Riverstar quickly reminded himself that everyone hated Crowstar because he was abandoning them. Riverstar wasn't doing that. In fact, he would be doing what Foreststar had done; she took all the rogues and loners in as part of her Clan. That comforting him, he offered to Eagle, "You know... you could stay with us, if you want." He side-glanced at Foxberry to see how she felt about this.

Spotting Mousefire and Stormeye sitting together not too far away, Dusklight thought she would join them. There was nothing else to do at the moment - all the patrols had already been sent out. She was just waiting for Cloudpaw to wake up so they could train. "Good morning, Mousefire, Stormeye," she greeted the two toms with a dip of her head.

Eagle's eyes because huge, looking up at the male. He realized he was the leader of their clan, wondering. "I-I....L-last time i was in a clan....they treated me badly...s-skyclan. b-but..." Eagle was too scared to think. what baout the other cats?! what would they think if he showed up. they probably though he was a crazy mountain kitten or something. Eagle though, looking at RiverStar.

"Ah, yes - very glad they're alright," she said, remembering how she had waited through the sunrise for them to return. Changing the subject, she decided to ask the question that was the talk of the camp lately. "Do you have any notion who the murderer - or murderers, I guess - could be?"

Taking a small step forward, he looked Eagle in the eyes as he spoke, "We will not treat you badly," he assured the little one. "I will make sure of that. You can trust me." As he looked into the stranger's eyes, he could only see fear. It hurt him to see that, and he wanted to turn the poor cat's life around.

Eagle somehow felt safe with the male cat, watching his moves as he lightly stood up. "O-Okay.." he stated, letting his tail go from between his legs, his ears back to normal. "B-But...c-can i stay with you...?" He didn't want near any of the other cats, terrified. He could at least maybe trust this male cat, looking up to him as he though this.

Riverstar thought this over a moment. If he were to become an apprentice, then he would have to sleep in the apprentices' den. He guessed Eagle might be able to sleep in his den until he became comfortable within the Clan. "Okay, how about you can sleep with me in my den?" Quickly realizing he hadn't told Eagle who he was, he added, "Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Riverstar, the leader of ForestClan. This is Foxberry, one of my warriors," he said, waving his tail toward the she-cat.
