August(?), father: (This may be edited depending on the results of his readoption) Honest criticism wasn't hard to come by in Bailey's house as a child. August not being the type to lie about things like the quality of some terrible drawing Bailey made in kindergarten, he helped her figure out not to settle with second best. She realized that the only way to impress him would be to put all of her effort into whatever she did, and even then it wouldn't always be enough. So, basically, he taught her to be determined in her efforts- something she is quite thankful for.
Reaver, father: Reaver's stoic personality was a bit boring at first for Bailey, but she's learned to love him. She never really understood the concept of being two-faced as a kid, so she always wondered why daddy-o acted a lot different to other people than to his kids. Of course, she eventually learned that's just sorta how he is, and she doesn't hate him for it or anything. She was probably a lot cuter to him as a kit, when she was more about hiding behind his legs from social interactions and less... perky, energetic and not scared of anything teen. Someday, she will convince him to watch Generic Horror Flick XVII with her, and he may not like it, but he'll do it because he's a good dad.
Aubrie Finch, sister: The two aren't as close as could be, but they certainly don't hate each other. Bailey Elizabeth is not what you would call a... "smarty pants", and Finch is often leaps and bounds ahead of her in school. That being said, while Bailey is a little jealous of her sister's intelligence, she still cares about her a lot. She's the sort of sister who's like "hey!!! no one picks on my smarty-pants big sis but ME!" when people pick on Finch (or have even the slightest rude intonation back to her sass). This is despite the fact she rarely picks on Finch in the first place. Finch probably picks on her more, but usually in ways and with words Bailey is too naive to understand.
Occupation ;;

Bailey Elizabeth was very unsure of what she wanted her occupation to be until later in life.
As a kid growing up, she had no real passions or talents. She was "girly," but not like... ultra-girly. Putting together outfits or doing makeup wasn't her forte, and she was no model. And academic pursuits were way out of the question- she had been at best average in school all her life. She tried out for sports in high school, considering her boundless energy and love of teamwork and socializing, and the cross country team was a place to be. But it wasn't something she wanted to do forever, nor did she even know what kind of living she could make on it. So it ended up no more than a fun hobby to pass the time while she stressed over what she wanted to do with her life. It seemed for a long while that she would likely go a way similar to her father, just doing whatever mercenary work appealed to her.
It was one of those brilliant accident moments that inspired her to figure out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She had been hanging out with the other cross country girls at lunch in her Junior year of high school, and was braiding a friend's hair to pass the time. (High school lunch periods were painfully long and boring- especially with no option to go outside.) Even if it was just for fun, and the other girl would inevitably just take out the braids in a couple hours, Bailey was focusing on it with all her might. The rhythmic motions of braiding were relaxing, reminding her of the lariats and knots she had learned in scouts as a child (she was an outdoorsy kid), and the other Kalon had very nice hair for it. It was all in good fun, and it gave Bailey's hands something to do while she listened in on the idle chatter of the team.
She barely finished her little project before the bell chimed to announce the period was over- but when she took a picture on her phone for the other Kalon to see what had been done, her "client" was amazed. Though Bailey hadn't really started with anything in mind, it was a pretty nice lace braid for the time spent. Bailey was pumped full of flattery as the other Kalon texted her about it every time she got a comment on her hairdo for the rest of the day. They didn't seem to be empty words, either- a couple texts were even asking where she had gotten it done, assuming it was salon work. A little praise was nice, even for something she hadn't been intending to be praised for.
So her future occupation started out with girls hoping to save money before prom.
Bailey Elizabeth had worked on (and ruined) some synthetic wigs in the meantime as she began her journey into the world of hairdressing. But that being said, her real trial by fire was the girls hoping to save $10-$20 by having their hair done by another student before prom. She made almost $200 the two days before prom by parting, curling, braiding, and pinning intricate hairstyles in place. No scissors yet, as she wasn't willing to risk any permanent damage. But overall, the whole week was a huge success- not only did she earn some spending money, she got some great experience working on real Kalons, too.
Ecstatic, she begged her fathers to let her take cosmetology electives in her senior year. Thankfully, they agreed. It was nerve wracking the first time she actually took scissors to someone's hair as a final exam, but it turned out decently at least. But while she couldn't hope to become the greatest hairdresser ever, she was thankful to finally have something she liked enough to make a career out of it. While not as cool as her father Reaver's occupation nor as universally respected as her sister's, her fathers just told her that what was important was that she was happy with it.
As of right now? She's still taking classes, and right now she's only a technician/intern at a little corporate chain barber shop. But some day, she dreams of opening her own little shop. That way, she can sit clients down and really get to know them and what they want in their hair styles. It helps her to have an aesthetic sense for these things, of course- she can only really know what the best look for someone is after she learns what they're all about.

Family Relationships ;;
Reaver: She and Reaver have never really gotten along to well. She knows he loves her but as hard as she tries to make herself believe she truly loves him she just can't do it. Due to this their relationship has suffered more and more over time. She never had a chance to really form an undying bond with him like he did her and as much as she wanted to it was to late when she got that chance. Her personality and interest often clashed with his but he could over look it and see how astounding his daughter was but she couldn't seeing she was still growing and developing herself.
Aubrie: Unlike her father she and Aubrie get along quite well and had a strong bond for the most part. She would often let her outdo her to make her happy and smile. She didn't mind her sass or need to be the smartest in the room and sometimes was quite amused by it. She tried to help her deal with stress but she could never do it as well as their dads so she would often just step down and let them deal with her for a bit. Over the years they grew apart and their bond weakened which was at the point she decided to go away,
Extras:
What happened to her?
Though she loves her family for the most part she couldn't bare to stay any longer and decided on moving on to another area where she could be happy and they could be happier without her. She packed her bags and began mapping out where she would go. She eventually decided on a small town she had overheard a few kalons talking about and began marking her path to get there. She wrote and note and left it for her family that read "My dearest family I regret to inform you that I am moving away from home. I love you all dearly and I hope you still love me with all of your heart even after everything we have been through. Best wishes on your new lives without myself and my cursed personality xoxo - Ara
She soon began traveling to that town. She arrived after 2 days and began looking for a place to stay there. She didn't talk to many people seeing she was quite shy about being in a new place where she had no idea the customs. She settled in a small home she liked and put her things away then went to sleep. As soon as she woke up she began looking for a job and found one working at a coffee shop that had good pay for the hours she had to work.
She began working their the next day and was enjoying her new life. When she came home that night she found a letter on her doorstep that read
"Dearest Ara we have found your note and wanted to reply with our wishes. Your return would be appreciated but we will respect your decision if you choose not. We forever love you dearly and we hope you us. Your personality is never and will never be cursed best wishes xoxo - Your loving family"
She knew her decision was the correct one but she kept the letter to remind herself her family forever loves her and will never leave her in where it matters most, her heart.
Personality wrote:Aaralyn is quite the courageous kalon when she is alone but turns quite shy when others watcher her. She wasn't afraid of what would happen to her when she ran off but she does often regret not trying harder to connect with her family and wishes to go back again to make up for it all, though she very well knows she could never make herself do it. Though she rarely does it she can be quite convincing and manipulative when she truly wants something form someone. She tries to keep her mouth shut so she doesn't embarrass herself seeing she wants to keep a good reputation in her new home though this proves rather hard often.
It's quite easy for her to keep her cool in more difficult situations but stress can easily break her apart. She tends to put to much pressure on herself to do well but now that she has moved to an area where no one knows her she has sought out help and is doing much better about this. She often lets people walk over her or outdo her seeing she likes to see people happier than herself and smile.
Once she learned about the new area she became much more social and now has a few good friends who she can hang out with. They often share stories and are all intrigued by the stories of where she came from. She is much happier with these people who understand her better but she will always have a part of her longing for her family and wishing they would come one day.
