Steven flinched at the sudden sound of knocking, causing him to knock over the tower of cards he was currently building out of some playing cards he had found in his cubboard. He sighed, throwing his head back. "aww man!" and got up to answer the door,"did Amythest order pizza again?-" he said, expecting to see Kiki, but instead someone new. A gem. He jumped back in surprise, letting out a small cry, "Pearl! New gem! New gem!" he shouted, before calming himself down. "who.. Are you?"

Steven was still being cautious. Every gem he had met had tried to kill him, though Lapis and Peridot came to their senses, and joined them, Jasper and Bismuth had not... "Uh... That's not really my decision-" Steven said shakily, voice raised in worry, expecting to be attacked at any moment. He looked over his shoulder in hope that Pearl, Garnet or even Amythest would show up suddenly, and help him out here, as he'd learned he wasn't that great at judging other gems.
