Smokepaw dodged to the side at the last second, though cavernstar's paws still cuffed his ear. The apprentice turned and barreled into the leader's side, trying to throw him off balance while keeping his own balance intact.

"Good" he commented, admiring the apprentice's quick reflexes. he swerved to the side quickly and used the snow to his advantage. he scraped it at him, and then once again moved, confusing him. he then got a blow on one of his ears.

As soon as the patrol got back to camp, Dustpaw went to her den and angerly nuzzled into her own nest. Fogthroat went out on a search for Gingersplash in the mean time, leaving Ashpaw to his own devices. "Gingersplash",he meowed alloud to the rust colored shecat,"May I speak with you about Dustpaw?"

Smokepaw shook his head, getting the snow out of his eyes. He knew he could also use the snow to his advantage if he figured out the right way it could help him in this battle. After a second's thought, which cost him a blow on the ears, the grey apprentice swished his tail across the ground, making the snowflakes fly at Cavernstar. He then raced around the larger tom as fast as he could while he was distracted and swiped at Cavernstar's back paws, trying to knock them from under his mentor.

cavernstar failed to keep his balance, and fell to the ground. "Great job." he mewed to his apprentice purring with pleasure.

"It seems Dustpaw doesn't quite know when it's safe to catch prey or when to not talk back to your elders. I told her she'll be cleaning out the nursery next time it needs done, if that's okay with you",he meowed to the young cat's mentor. "I apologize if I stepped out of turn but her reaction to me telling her that racing into a burr bush wasn't safe was, well to say the least, disrespectful. Along the way home she almost tried to eat the shrew she'd caught too, you should refresh her on the code." He wasn't trying to be rude but his words where kurt, blunt, and rather unfriendly; However, much of the clan knew how he was so he expected Gingersplash to know he was just letting her know that Dustpaw wasn't being as well behaved as the clan may have liked.

gingersplash looked at him and nodded. "That is unacceptable behavior." "and yes, she should probably clean out the nursery when it needs done." she mewed "Once i see her i will tell her.. and let her brush up on the warrior code again." she said a bit disappointed in her apprentice "Thanks for telling me." she said.

After taking a drink from the water, she looked up at the sky. A snowflake fell on her nose, causing her to sneeze. She shook her head and padded her way back to camp slowly. As she made her way in camp, she noticed Quailtuft sitting alone near the warrior's den. She headed over, giving a curt and steady nod. "Hello there Quailtuft." She said before looking at his fur. "Im sure your very warm, its a blessing to have such a coat!"

Ashpaw sat nearby where Dustpaw was along with his mentor and hers. He was just taking a bite of his meal, as he made sure he caught 2-3 pieces of kill so he could have his share. His light blue eyes blinked listening in on the adults' conversation. Oh Dustpaw...why did you have to go do that? He shook his head. Ashpaw felt bad for his friend but knew it was for the best. She'd learn and grow strong in time. He then continued his meal in peace.

Pinekit sat outside the nursery den's entrance. His amber eyes looked off, as if there was something in the distance. He was already getting rather large for a kit is age, so he tried to stay out of the way.
