This is a species idea I've actually had for a while but only recently got more attached to because of a dream I had but they're these little lemur guys & I really want to maybe try and make an adopt with them
i just have no idea what to name them or the world they live in (I think the world will be called 'Naviru')
honestly being busy with Viscets is one of my lesser concerns tbh because like, I'm not really too attached to Viscets & I just run them more or less automatically at this point, but I really like these guys personally and would very happily have a lot of fun running them. My realest concern is only that having a systematic adoptable of them might conflict the OCs that I already have, as well as the fact that I can't go back and change whatever I want as easily if they're made public, but meh. (I think I'll definitely have a rule that I'm allowed to create OCs of the species freely that I keep outside of the adoptable demographic; so I'll be able to make OCs of them as much as I want, and change around said OCs, but they would not exist within the community, only for personal use)
but anyways they have a lot of background/lore to them, mainly revolving around the 2 societies: Techs (for technology) who live in human-like civilizations, and the spiritual Tribals who live in the wilds.
They live in a unique world where the Tribals live in a giant but remote valley system, while the Techs live outside along the rest of the continent. The 2 societies hardly ever come into contact, and confrontations could be good or bad depending on those involved.
The Techs live in cities, villages, and farms, and while they can have a variety of belief systems, they have only a single language and a relatively English culture overall due to their uniform population. Tribals are more unique/lore-y; they are generally peace-loving, spiritual creatures that live more similarly to their feral ancestors by building nests in trees and fighting with spears rather than futuristic weaponry. Unlike Techs, their lifestyle revolves more along small communist social groups where they live like family, and their greatest fear isn't taxes but giant alien jaguars. Nevertheless, they're happy with their lifestyle and like to avoid the Techs.
The Tribals generally (still developing) worship an obscure god called the Fire-Breather, a mythological dragon that drools lava and is said to burn the evil while protecting the good. The world is full of ancient ruins from past civilizations, which the Tribals say is from before the last time the Fire-Breather cleansed the world. They say that all lemurs once lived like the Techs did, but they began to destroy the world, so the Fire-Breather surfaced from the depths of the planet and swept them all away; the Fire-Breather turned to the remaining kind-hearted ones and told them to live forever in the Valleys, where they must live with and be kind to nature, never to see the outside world again. Because of this, most Tribals refuse to leave the Valleys and prefer not to associate with the Techs; however, they do so not out of fear of the Fire-Breather, but out of respect for their god and the world he protects. Nevertheless, some are still curious of Tech culture and inventions.
The Techs, for the most part, do not believe in the Fire-Breather and consider him to be Tribal mythology.
