Eosphoros - Name Explanation▻ In popular demonology, Lucifer is generally the angel of pride. Lucifer as a word, adjective, and name traces its origins back to the god of dawn and the morning star. This god was more commonly called "Eosphoros".

It was Pride that changed angels into devils...
XXXXEosphoros is an unpleasant, arrogant creature that lurks on the fringes of society, wandering in that cold, pale light of the time between day and night. He has no family, nor does he make friends with civil folk. This kalon seems only interested in sowing destruction, and whispering doubt and empty words into empty heads.
XXXXEosphoros tells a story of himself, though it is hard to if it is true. But, someone's story, and the story that they tell, can shed much light upon who they really are.
Pride is the thin line between righteousness and self-righteousness.
XXXXRare is that which is born corrupt. Eosphoros was different, but he was different in the way that you or I am different. In other words, he had a quite ordinary uniqueness.
XXXXThe kalon was born in a quiet little town out in the middle of nowhere, too small to exist on any map. He was brought up among the verdant hills and woods, alongside the other children. At a very young age, Eosphoros began training as a warrior, for he had heard the stories of the knights and paladins of old, and wished to someday share their glory. As it turns out, he was remarkably proficient with weapons. When he eventually grew stronger than his tutors, there were no words to describe his pride. It was well-earned.
XXXXIt did not take long for Eosphoros to be hailed as a new hero of that little patch of countryside. He styled himself as a paladin- a warrior of justice, and light. That was exactly what he was, at that time. He did great things for the people. He cared for them- made sure they were safe, and happy. He became the central form of law enforcement for that little town, and he was loved.
XXXXLoved a little too much, some might say. For as the greatest warrior around for leagues around, Eosphoros had the authority to decide guilt and punishment, and he was not challenged. He was justice. And here is where the problem lay, of course he who thinks that he can do no wrong will think himself perfect, and he who thinks himself perfect will try to lord himself over the lesser folk.
XXXXHe who does not have the right to lord himself over others yet does so anyways quickly falls.
Pride comes before the fall.
XXXXEosphoros was defeated, stripped of all that had brought him pride before and cast out. He was all but unrecognizable; a mere shell of what he had been before. Ordinary. The very word an insult to his being, yet that is what he was made to be.
Now Eosphoros wanders, slipping into the crowds and murmuring ideas and delusions into the ears of the gullible and insecure, setting them up just to watch them fall. Why he delights in such a thing is beyond the comprehension of most. Perhaps it is spite, for the world that tore him down. Or perhaps it is his own, twisted sense of justice. What has been done to him he will do to everyone else, for if we are all equal, then they deserve to suffer like he did, right?
And still, the arrogance persists. Eosphoros still thinks he is perfect, and now it is an even greater offense, for very little can be justified. He even takes pride in his own decadence; a stubborn, blind pride in the very fact that his greatest flaw is the gatekeeper, the mother of all other flaws.
"Besides," he will say, "it's not even a flaw at all. I have no flaws. Who are you, to call confidence and belief in oneself a sin, hmm?"
