It reminds me of a violet-backed starling!

Wow! That is gorgeous. Wish it was a pps. I hope I don't miss this one, but I adopted two hours late, so it will be a bit before I know.

Hm, you're right, it does look an awful lot like a starling. But starlings are part of the sturvidae family, not the corvidae. So maybe these chickens are based on starlings? There is a black starling, like the first chick, so maybe...

They're very pretty.
I know people have been speculating if the chickens could be based on real birds (though everyone seemed to focus on corvids), so maybe that's why my thoughts went there. I'd be totally down for starling chickens, but I'ma wait and see what the rest of the chicks look like. Bit early to make a good guess x3

Btw starling eggs are typically blue or white, too.
