In RTTE, Stoic is still alive, but he dies in the second movie. Regardless of odd advancements, the chronological order is:
Movie 1
Legend of the Boneknapper/Gift of the Night Fury (never mentioned)
Riders of Berk
Defenders of Berk
RTTE
Movie 2
Movie 3

Anyways, that's the end of the spoilers. If you didn't read it, I explained why RTTE has to come before the second movie.

I know what Order everything goes in.
I guess I'm just saying that they didn't plan ahead very well, because there are thing in RTTE that when compared to the second movie make no sense at all.

Yeah. Also, I know Thornado is Stoic's old Thunderdrum, but what series is he mentioned in? HTTYD really doesn't like explaining things as they happen chronologically, or, for that matter, allowing us to watch the really important series that tell us a ton. Thanks, Netflix.

Also, I was just playing SoD, and I got tons of people wanting me to go talk to Heather. And EVERY QUEST with Heather in it makes you do some dumb experiment. Ugh. It was the chocolate quest from Gobber. Problem is, cacao is a New World crop, and the 'New World' was explored in the 1500s, not the time of the Vikings.

Sigh. The historical inaccuracy makes me want to slap my computer.

Thornado first shows up in Episode 7 of Riders. Pretty early on, actually.

Gobbers Chocolate quest was amusing, tbh.
Also a bit worrying in some ways, but...We'll let Gobber do his thing. xD
And like we've said before though, The new world may have been "Discovered" at that time, but the Vikings did make a couple trips over there, so maybe that's the connection they were aiming for.

It's kind of a kids game too, though. Little kids aren't going to care about things like that, or have the attention spans to even realize that there /are/ historical errors.
Speaking of historical errors though, I wrote a rant about Character height a while ago, I can post it if you'd like to read it.

GOD, Heather is so tall! When you save the eggs from the ship she's like a foot taller than your character. You are literally drowning while she walks above the water.

So, on to something more puzzling, or at least Frustrating....
Character heights.

So, with everything I've read, the fandom pegs Hiccup to be around 5'9" in the first movie. He's taller than Me. I'm 5'2.5".....And I've stopped growing. >.> (I'm also a girl though, so being shorter than a man is a genetic default)

Looking at the Stock art of Hiccup and Stiock together, Hiccup appears to be at /least/ ten inches shorter than his father. This means that realistically speaking, Stoick has to be around 6'7". (If you got for the full ft, 6'9") Now, in the second movie, the conclusion seems to be that Hiccup is 6'1" or 6'2". Looking at the Stock art for the Second movie of Hiccup with both Parents, Valka's height is somewhere in between; I personally guess about 6'4.5" or 6'5".

/They are all giants, wth?!/

BUT, here's the other thing;This makes the women weirdly tall.That kind of height on men isn't as abnormal, at least in Hiccup's case.(Stoick is a weird exception 'cause he's the big bad viking dad and that's just how he rolls xD)
Astrid is about half an inch taller than hiccup in the first movie, and while she ends up shorter then him, she probably still gained another inch. This would make Astrid around 5'10.5". So we have two main women ranging from 5'10" to about 6'5". (with most other girls/women in the series being somewhere in between.)

Upon a quick google search, all of these heights are /massively/ inaccurate to Real viking averages. Viking men Generally ranged between 5'7" and 5'11", So the fact that Hiccup was 5'9" (at only 15) and considered small in httyd is laughable for the real world. But this means that IRL, Hiccup would have stopped growing. My quick search gave nothing about the Women's averages, but I can only assume they'd be of similar marks like 5'3" to 5'7".

Also, Smokebreaths and Terrible/Night Terrors are not NEARLY big enough to ride, even when they're Titans. It takes 2 Smokebreaths to carry a small battle-axe. Terrors are way to small to even carry a human, let alone fly with them, saddles, and giant inventories on their backs. It would be like trying to ride a llama. They might be big enough for you to fit on their backs, but you can't ride them without snapping their spines in half.

Well Tank, either we rant here, or we hold it all in and suffer over not getting it out.
Besides, we all bring up good points, and we keep the thread moving!

As far as SoD sizes go though....
We already talked junk about the quality of the game. It's very possible that the dragons are sized as they are to prevent loading problems. If everyone had mounts the size of our IRL houses, it would be kind of really massively annoying. xD As-is, we're all flying dragons. ***If you ever played other MMO's, this means //we're all the jerks with the giant flying mounts// xD

At least if they keep the dragons to a general size range, the players can stay out of each others ways while also not bogging themselves down while their device tries to load up the dragons.

*** I've mentioned before that I played a game called Ever Quest 2. There's crafting in that game, and there's /always/ someone crafting in the public areas that has refused to get off their Raptor or Pegasus or...Lava lizard mounts. Oh, you want to craft Jewelry? To bad, DeathGod666's Giant friggin Raptor is in the way and you can't click the crafting table.....I'm not salty....xD

Yeah, Tank? In first book there are two Giganticus maximus (aka Green/Red death). One of them is actually Green death while the second is Purple death. I think that's where they got inspiration for a second red death.

Good point on the over-sizing issue. And yes, I play many games where people block stuff. In SoD, 3 people were having a conversation from the backs of their Stormcutters, and they were standing on top of the baby Deathsong I needed to click on. When I asked them to move, one of them was super salty and snapped at me for being rude. Eventually I just mounted my Eruptodon and stepped on them until they left.
