aspenwing's soft fur ruffled in the breeze. she knew she had to leave purpleflower and tidestar to talk alone, and she also knew that the queen was probably trying to win him over. aspenwing longed to tell tidestar how she felt, but he probably loved purpleflower... at least that's what she thought. aspenwing wished she could tell him that she would do anything to prove her love for him, and that she would do anything for him, but she was probably too late.

aspenwing looked up to meet tidestar's eyes. she could tell that something was troubling him. he's going to reject me, isn't he...? she thought, her heart breaking slightly. she gulped down the lump rising in her throat and tried to look happy. when he nuzzled purpleflower she tried to hide the tear slipping down her cheek, but it fell anyways.
