The Kill wrote:A cold rain had began to fall when Sunstone arrived
back at camp. Nothing productive had been done,
due to every cat in fear of the killer, but everybody
had snuggled into their nests to get away from the
cold. Cloverface had just left the elders den, as she
had been talking to Frostynight. She quickly began
to shiver as rain soaked her pelt, but was quickly
joined by a warm body pressing against her. "Oh!"
Cloverface chirped, not expecting the cat. "Sorry,
did you need something?" She didn't think any cat
would be out of their den unless they needing some-
thing, so she cut to the point and asked. The cat
nods. "Yes, actually. I think I saw a fox wandering
over from Shadowclan territory. Do you think you
could help me chase it off?" The cat pauses, then
quickly adds "Its small, so just us two should be
able to." Cloverface readily agrees. They should
teach that fox to not come onto their territory!
Cloverface quickly peeks in to let the elder know,
and the two cats leave to dispose of the threat.
It didn't take long until the killer shot out their
tail, opening their mouth to taste the air. It
definitely reeked of fox. The cat lowered their
voice to barely a whisper, saying "You go around
that way," flicking their tail to the left "And I'll
go the other." Cloverface nods, following the plan.
The killer goes the intended direction, but qui-
ckly and quietly loops around, until they were
behind the she-cat. Tensing her hind legs, the cat
springs onto Cloverface's back. Before she even
had time to react, the cat had already grabbed
Cloverface by the neck, delivering a powerful,
killing blow to the she-cat.
It wasn't until later that Frostynight started to
worry for the two young cats. Since the rain had
subsided, the elder decided to go and make sure
they were okay. The rain had washed away their
scent, so she wandered around looking for any
hints of the two. Once she smelled fox, she
bolted straight in that direction. Right to the
body of Cloverface. Right into the jaws of a fox.
It quickly disposed of Frostynight. Upon seeing
the elder leave camp, the killer slid into their
nest, and slept until morning, knowing the
success of the night.
Oh my! Two cats in one night! Could the
day be any worse?

Sweetpaw
The tom had just woken up in his nest, the sky was grey today but the interesting sort where all the different downy colors swirl together like that of a tabby's coat. Sweetpaw turned to say so to his denmate before realizing that minnowpaw wasn't there anymore. Suddenly the day seemed even more miserable than it had been before. He didn't want to leave his nest anymore, especially when there could be a killer still out there. Though no other cats had died yet, perhaps Voleheart had been the one to drown Minnowpaw? If that was the case Sweetpaw wanted to tear the former deputy's pelt to shreds.

Sweetpaw
"Not really," the tom whispered mournfully, "I keep thinking about Minnowpaw. Do you really think that Voleheart killed him? What if there's another cat out there coming after us?" His eyes were wide with fear as he gazed at Stonepaw, "What if we're next?"

Acornpaw was in the medicine cat's den, sitting quite gloomily. She could not sleep at all last night, knowing Minnowpaw was dead and had exiled their deputy. She had felt bad for him, however, knowing couldn't live up to his expectations, but now knowing he could've killed an innocent apprentice... her whole perspective of him changed.

badgerfrost
"don't bother."
badgerfrost paced.
her good eye stared hard at the dusty clearing floor beneath her as she walked, lumbering back and forth in silence. voleheart was not the murderer. she had not voted, because she did not believe either cat accused was guilty. the killer was not an apprentice--that she knew for certain. jaypaw was the only apprentice strong enough to have drowned minnowpaw, and the two had been up late training with their mentors to make up for the time they'd been sick with a cough. no, it was not an apprentice. it was not wetstar, for he had spent the night in the warriors den because of the cold. she'd been sleeping next to him--if he'd gotten up, she would have known. wouldn't she?
pace, pace, pace.
it wasn't leopardduck or bramblestorm--she hated to say it, but the tom was as dumb as a branch (badgerfrost had mentored him, after all), and the she-cat to caught up with being a good warrior and candidate for next deputy. frostynight was too calm, too good natured, too patient to be capable of something like that. she highly doubted it was them, so, that, to her, left four. adderwillow, cloverface, clearwater and sunstone.
rather suddenly, badgerfrost stopped pacing. she stood straight, and her nose wrinkled. if the killer wasn't gone, that meant there could be more deaths. cats could die right under there noses. she needed to know where everyone was. the she-cat turned, climbing out of the warriors den and angrily shaking off moss. her gaze fell upon sweetpaw, and the old deputy came over to his side.
"sweetpaw. good morning. may i have a word?"
