She moved closer to Mousestar, fear lacing every hair on her pelt. ``Perhaps it's best if we stay away from the Clan.``

He looks over at her. "I think it's best if I'm on my own for a little while, Tinyfeather's in charge while I'm gone"

``. . . Okay.`` Ashrunner bent down, licking Mousestar. ``Return when you feel comfortable.`` She got up, seeming reluctant to leave Mousestar, but Ashrunner pelted back towards the camp.

The tabby didn't stop running until her paws grew raw and she skidded into camp.

Oaktail licked her ear and head in a comforting way. She purred softly as he did.
