Van nodded, smiling softly before a little frown spread across her face. "Does that mean...that you don't want me to hang around with you anymore? At least for the time being?" It was hard for her to say it, but if that was what Fabe wanted, she would give him the support he needed. Her heart clenched a little, not sure how he would answer.

His admittance that he did, in fact, like Shade in a romantic way. But due to the circumstances, it was unlikely that Fabe, or Shade, would ever admit their feelings. She released a soft sigh and nodded. "I figured as much. You two always looked so happy when you were near each other." She said, a fond smile flirting with her lips.

Shade paused at the entrance to the school. The entire trip had taken a lot less time than he had expected and now the nerves were gnawing at his stomach and enormity of what he had done was beginning to take hold on him. His slender hand paused as he reached towards the door and he took one last moment to look at himself before he walked into the school.

Fabian frowned at Van and then shrugged his shoudlers slowly. "I'm not sure about that part of it yet" He mumbled, feeling guilty again, he really couldn't imagine being normal with Van, though he'd never ever want to hurt her, his pale eyes were dark with worry and anxiousness.

"He doesn't like me back" Fabian said firmly when Van said what she did, his eyes narrowing seriously and a rather jealous, sour look covered his face. He always give other guys more attention then he gives me! He thought and frowned further.

Mitchell frowned worriedly at Cue and then shot him a wide smile. "Yes, lets go eat, it'll take your mind of things" He said quietly, his chocolate brown eyes still slightly wide at the shock of what had happened before, the threatening, the name calling and the information Cue knew.

Autumn wandered up the the school, looking at it with distaste. He hated school, well he hated the classes being in one always made him feel awkward and distracted from learning. His mind always wandered and his never liked sitting still, but he never was labeled with an attention disorder. He frowned to himself at the thought, his parents did want to take him to a doctor for it, but he just said that he would try harder to pay attention.

Shade rounded a corner and saw Mitchell and Cue, without Van, whom he had assumed would be with them. For a moment, he wondered if they would recognize him. His hands in his pockets, a slight swagger to his step, he nodded to them and said in a rather low, but smooth voice, "Where is Van?" He pulled one slender hand out to run it through his ebony black hair then shrugged casually and added, "Never mind. I'll find her myself." He gave them a half wave, and continued on. It was as though the world had ended. Shade without red hair and a tiara was like jelly without peanut butter. Shade without his usual flamboyant, cheerful attitude was like the shizzle without the izzle. (couldn't help myself. XD)

He continued on and a few people whispered to one another, mainly girls. He overheard a couple of them and managed to catch an astonished, "Is that Shade Rivers?!" Despite himself, a crooked grin slid across his face. Clearly, he didn't look gay anymore because he noticed several girls blushing and giggling when he let his ice blue gaze wash over them. The thought of hooking up with a girl bothered him, but if that was what it took to be "normal" enough to stay friends with Fabe, he was sure....well, pretty sure...he could pull it off.

Rounding another corner, he saw a white head and immediately froze as he heard the conversation she was having with Fabe, who was looking a little sour.

"I think you're wrong. Shade does like you." Van's soft voice was saying. Shade took not a moment longer and strolled up to them.

"Who do I like?" He asked in a quiet, velvety voice. He waited to see their reaction.

Van sighed and nodded. "I suppose I understand, though I'm not going to lie: I am pretty mad at you." She murmured, then allowed a smile to slide across her face.

"You know, if it's not getting enough attention from Shade, it's only because he's afraid of how you'll react if he does really flirt and hang onto you. He flirts and is so "touchy feely" with other guys because he doesn't care about them nearly as much as he does you. So, I think you're wrong. Shade does like you." A voice from behind made her jump and she was about to growl out a "eavesdropping on other people's conversations is annoying" when she registered that the black-haired boy behind her had said "I."

"Sh-Shade?" She managed to gasp out, clapping a slender hand over her mouth. Her gaze traveled up his body and her eyes grew more and more wide. "What the hell did you do to your hair? And where are your necklaces? And why is your signature tiara broken in half? What the hell is this? Some kind of joke?" She ranted on and on, but his face remained calm and cool.

Van instantly turned to Fabe. "Well?! What do you have to say about this? You can't honestly approve of your best friend being so idiotic!" She threw her hands up in the air as though she were dealing with obnoxious children.

Fabian frowned at Van sourly. "Nuh uh! I don't believe you!" He exclaimed stubbornly, his sigh voice trilling, then he flushed in embarrassment, he hoped to god his voice wouldn't be so high once it broke, he looked sourly at Van and then let out a small sigh and slumped his shoulders critically, his pale peach coloured eyes narrowed grumpily with a small groan.

Fabian's eyes widened as he heard a familiar and he looked up, barely regonizing his best friends, his face turned horrified as he saw. "What the HELL Shade!?" He exclaimed in shock and his pale eyes narrowed and he kept staring, what happened to Shade's crimson hair? His flamoyant clothes? His.... Gayness?

Fabian shot Van a look without replying and then frowned, realizing this was his fault, his eyes widened and he put his hands over his mouth. I killed Shadey He thought in a horrified state and he took a step backward.

Autumn walked down the hallways slowly, looking at the other students before pulling out a book, it was A Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare, one of his favorite stories, he stood in front of his locker and started to read. Acting as if no one was around him, nor near him. If he was alone in his book, not carrying if anything happened.

"I decided it was about time I changed my look." Shade said, his voice rather masculine. There was no trace of the bubbly, giggly tone he so often spoke in. The only reminder of who he had once been was his infamous, crooked smile. He flicked his obsidian bangs out of his face, revealing his ice blue eyes that reflected aloofness and perhaps indifference.

"Why the vehement reaction? I just dyed my hair and got rid of the tiara and necklaces." He murmured, eyes flashing a little. He leaned against a nearby locker, then uttered a sigh. "No matter how much you look at me like that, Van, I'm not going to go back." He said, rather harshly as he was continually burned by his best friend's death glare. Matched with Fabe's horrified expression, the pair of them seemed appropriately shocked--which was good; he wanted to completely "transform" into something new.

"Besides, it was my understanding that crimson hair, girlish accessories, and such were not normal." He didn't look at Fabe as he said that, instead staring at the wall. "I'm also going to try out for the soccer team and give up the jewelry-making class."

Fabian stared in shock as Shade kept talking and his horrified expression turned cold as he heard the two last sentences, he frowned angrily at Shade. "You just did this to yourself to make me feel bad!" He snapped, clenching his fists and looking away, his messy blond hair covering his tanned face slightly as he did so.

"Your...." Fabian trailed off in a disgusted snort, feeling angrier then he had in a long time, Shade had been beautiful the way he had been before, the way he'd acted, they way he'd talked, it had seemed perfect to him. But now... Nothing was right about Shade, nothing.

His pale eyes flashed to Shade's black hair and his new clothes, he felt sick, really sick. It was his fault, but still.... Why on earth would Shade do this to himself!? Really...

A flash of pain entered Shade's eyes, but he reigned it in and held back the tears that threatened to form. "I didn't do this to make you feel bad." He murmured quietly, his slender hands hanging limply at his sides. "I did this so I could still be near you." His voice was even more hushed now, like whisper, as though he was afraid to speak too loudly.

He stared at his new converse as he continued to explain. "Black is a rather generic color, and I was sort of in a hurry, so I figured it would work." He ran a hand through his bangs as he spoke, the locks becoming a little messy and tousled. It wasn't that he looked bad or anything--most of the girls found him cuter now--; it was just that he didn't look gay. At all. Or like himself. He fidgeted a little and adjusted the collar of his shirt, not liking how tightly it clung to his chest. He so preferred the loose shirts that slipped down his shoulders.

Shade tried to hide his anxiety with another crooked smile. "Besides, I wanted to see what it would be like for people to treat me differently if they didn't think I was gay." Though he delivered the lines semi-cheerfully, they weren't convincing in the least.

Fabian still glared at Shade, his pale eyes narrowed as he listened. "But you don't even look or sound like you anymore! I was best friends with Shade, not what you are" He said firmly and frowned even more increasingly, looking very, very grumpy, like a child.

Fabian examined Shade with a small, quick glare, his friend defiantly looked less gay now, MUCH less gay, he bit his soft lips lightly and then let out a sigh and looked away, it made him feel ill. Fabian's eyes narrowed and he glanced at Van to see what she'd say about it. He crossed his arms across his chest.

Fabian glanced back at Shade. "Fine, you do that then. I'm going back o the High School and I'll make some straight friends, and you can make your own straight friends" He said firmly, seeing through Shade's semi-cheerfullness. Maybe he should change his name too, his name wasn't "Normal", Jayden, Paul, Michael, they were normal names, if Shade wanted to change so drastically then Fabian would have to do something just as drastic.

Fabian's eyes flashed to Van, thinking of the peck he had given her, he narrowed his eyes and grinned. "Hey Van? Wanna come out to dinner with me tonight?" He asked, flashing his lesbian friend a small grin.
