Zealan bolted out of her stall as soon as Rhovanion opened it. She had to admit, it was pretty cool that he learned to unlatch those locks. Unfortunately, it seemed to be a skill that he wouldn't soon use again. The filly galloped alongside the five others. She heard the whinnies and snorts of those who wished to stay behind fade slowly from her ears. Ah, how Zealan had missed the feeling of freedom, and rebellion. Oh, how she reveled in rebellion. Her eyes stayed on the white fence that surrounded that had kept them prisoner for so long. Zealan couldn't help thinking to herself, why didn't I jump this sooner? After all, the fence looked so short and feeble up close. With a deep breath and a strong leap she was over it. Her strong legs kept her upright even though she faltered during her touch down. Despite being free of the confines of the cold, whitewashed fences and red barns, the filly didn't quit running until she was sure civilization was far behind her. Once everyone had stopped running Zealan took a glance around at everyone. Rhovanion, she knew, but barely. The other stallion, he was charcoal black; Well, she couldn't say that she'd ever seen him around, but now that she was only five feet away from him, Zealan could barely keep her eyes off him. But, her eyelids were heavy and soon enough she was asleep. Though, the noises of the outdoors startled her from her slumber everyone now and then. Zealan still had to get used to that.
Sunrise came quickly, and it had only seemed like mere minutes before the speckled horse was awoken again. The morning light illuminated the others, and now she could see them all clearly. The mares looked eager, and yet still jumpy. Had any of them ever seen the wilderness? Zealan wondered. But then again, Rhovanion looked quite shook up as well.. Was he just now realizing what responsibilities lie ahead of him? Whatever it was, this filly wasn't going to let it bother her. She stretched and cantered a few feet away from the others and began to graze, ears and tail flicking softly as she went. She made sure to stay alert in case any humans were out there somewhere, searching for the escapees.
