Now, instead of focusing on the Harpy, she looked at the Haibu, face from going from the almost constant smile to a dark and serious grimance."Anyways, as you explore, could you check the borders? Little bird seems interested in humans and they are starting to look busy." She had not only watched the pond, but wandered around the kingdom in a plain-looking adult human form and she had not dliked what she had seen.

A hive? Like a wasp's nest? She studied the dead vermin, ignoring Chiyoko's response. She was trying to push her into acting out. That had to be it. But she knew that if she tried anything, Kenai would be at her throat in a heartbeat. It wasn't worth it. "The Haibu," she pronounced slowly and awkwardly. She had to test new words, and satisfied with its sound, a low trilling noise rumbled in her throat at her accomplishment. She bobbed her head eagerly, ready to explore. And more importantly, check the border for humans!

They need to be stopped. Tap. Perhaps this will be a good test for the new child. Tap. She decided. "Anyways, keep Alder safe. I don't need the blood of another creature on my conscious." With this, she turned away, her metal band tapping a fast rythym and her normal fist clenched. She started to walk now,a heavy hold in her step, as she had been completely honest about the last statement.

Alder's gaze shifted uneasily towards Chiyoko as she followed The Haibu away. What did she have against humans? She sure resembled one very often, especially for someone who dislikes them. But no matter. She was finally going to get the chance to explore, and she tottered after him, an occasional hop or two in her gait. Harpies weren't really built to walk, though they were fully capable of doing it. Harpies are awesome, she decided with a silent nod. Yes, she was agreeing with herself, and no she didn't need or care for anyone's opinion on this. "Why?" she asked them after a while. "They may only be passing through."

The Erlking let out a sudden growl of annoyance as another voice chirped up nearby. His dark, glaring eyes flashed as a young chimera bounded into view. Her eyes were honey colored, and her wings seemingly delicate, but gosh, didn't she seem like a bright happy angel... something Kenai absolutely despised.

"And who do you think you are, loner? Trampling around the sanctuary, or should I say, trespassing on somebody's territory." His voice lilted into a soft hushing tone, a mocking voice that held a threat. His headache wasn't getting any better with Annabelle unable to get something for it, so perhaps he would just blame his dark mood on somebody else. The air around him continued to darken, causing birds and animals to flee the crawling shadows.

(@Kurora: do you think Chiyoko could see the shadows and come investigate the matter? I feel like Kenai is just waiting to cause trouble.)

As they continued to slip through the busy streets of the market, the girl paused, her eyes catching on a fiery bead dangling from a thread. But just as she was about to abandon the group for just a second to admire it's enchanting gleam, a deep masculine voice caught her attention. The male had just thanked them... he had actually thanked her... for just... well... existing.

Her eyes were lined with silver as she quickly ducked her head, blinking back tears that stung her eyes. It felt good to actually belong for once... even if it was just an illusion, it felt good.

Orchid had just been walking before she heard Kieran's words. He thanked them! The elf girl couldn't help but smile and pause in her tracks. She stood there for a moment and processed through those perfect words before a faint blush floated across her cheeks and nose. However, it only lasted for a moment before a few people shoved passed the girl. Orchid snapped back into reality and cleared her throat before hurrying to catch back up with Kieran. She looked back at Shikira and noticed that the girl seemed quite happy as well.
