After the small laugh, he looked at Orchid. "I have always had a sense of humor," he replied. "But normally, those who I meet have come to my residence to kill me, so no one ever finds out." She smiled at the three girls, and looked at them all softly. "I must say it is nice to talk with others. For that, I thank you all."

She perked when Chiyoko finally addrressed her by her name and gave her an appreciative glance before facing this... Haibu thing. It was safe to say she had never seen, nor even heard of something like them. She took an apprehensive step towards them to get a better look, then realized she should probably answer the greeting and quickly lowered herself down in an awkward bow. "Thank You. I work here now. Gather firewood. Hunt. You?" Alder had trouble guessing what it was they did.

They nodded, "we are a warrior so we mostly guard and watch for any human intruders but we can hunt or gather resources if needed." Vermus were starting to wander away from The Haibu when suddenly they turned around and headed back into them.

She honestly expected the harpy to react differently, but not all things go to plan. Whatever. When the Vermus started to wander away then come back, she tilted her head, confused but remained silent. "Actually about that!" she chimed up. "Little bird here wants to go exploring. Would you mind showing her around and keeping her safe?"

They nodded again, "we can watch her while she explores if that if what you want." They did a small bow and then looked over at the Harpy to see what she had to say about this. Some of the Vermus shedded off their body seemingly dead but more replaced them almost instantly.

So much for the proper title. She wrinkled her nose in distaste and looked over at Chiyoko. "Alder," she corrected again. But she knew it would most likely be futile. Assuming The Haibu would be guiding her about, she approached him, though leaped back as little pieces of themselves fell to the ground. Her amber gaze blinked at up at them in concern, then darted towards Chiyoko. "Them, protect me? They are falling apart by themselves!" She looked down at the little giblets and shuddered, shaking loose another dead feather. She didn't mean to be rude, but this was all very strange to her.

"That is not very kind," she chided, waving a finger at the harpy. "You should not judge a creature by it's looks, or in this case, the hive." She nodded to herself before looking at the Harpy. "You should apologize." She switched her eyes back to the amber cat eyes and lengthened her teeth. An added incentive.

She scoffed indignantly. All that Chiyoko and Kenai had done since she met them was offend and judge her, especially by her looks. And that felid threat... And they felt the need to tell her to apologize? Her lips twitched, threatening to curl back into a snarl. How she wished to teach them a lesson... But she held her tongue and faced The Haibu (after an irritated glare cast Chiyoko's way) and lowered her head just slightly in a bow. "Sorry..." After all, it wasn't The Haibu who she was upset with. Though she couldn't help but doubt his mobility. She folded her wings tightly against her back, figuring she wouldn't be needing them anytime soon, and let her gaze drop to the ground. Or, the perch they were still on.

They shook their head, "it is fine, most creatures are not used to us." He picked up one of the dead Vermus, "we are not one creature, we are in fact a hive. Every creature dies, that includes the creatures that make up me."
