"A compliment? Hmm. That is for you to decide." He replied curtly. The male lowered his body to the ground, sitting down next to Khaleesi. His tail wrapped around his paws neatly, his shoulders stiff as usual. Unlike Sorita, he was always alert, ready for attack at all times. One of the other things drilled in his head by his father, Keyon. Perhaps sometimes he questioned his father's ways... Secretly, of course. No, that was nonsense. If he wasn't trained properly by his father, he wouldn't be strong; he would be a weak Vigilance fool. Listening on, he frowned at her answer about the scents."The female," Kodix started, "Didn't have the scents of another wolf. I don't know any rogues running around lately, unless you count the little pup we took in. I can ask her." He stated, casting a sideways glance at the Subordinate. "But I doubt it." A soft frown pressed at his mouth. An unidentified scent. Strange. It wasn't Vigilance; they wouldn't stray near after what he did.. His frown melted in to a smirk. A rogue or lone wolf was likely, although he hadn't spot any recently. Perhaps it was nothing. Nothing Odious couldn't take on anyways.

The voice of her Beta broke off her thoughts, as her body jolted. Whipping around, she spotted Maya, breathing a soft sigh of relief. Her worried look shifted into an uneasy smile. "You scared the living moonlight out of me. Whew." Sorita forced a soft chuckle, wagging her tail un-enthusiastically. Flinching at her words, she looked at the dark-furred female earnestly. "I can't really kid myself, or any others for the matter," She said gently. "If Kodix wants to rattle us - or rather, me - up.. Well, he's done it. I'm worried, Maya." She remained quiet for a moment, closing her eyes together tightly. She seemed hollow. Like her soul had abandoned her mind and body, floating elsewhere. It was uncanny for Sorita to get this nervous. All this time the war seemed.. Unreal. Like mirrors. Mere illusions. Keyon and her dear mother.. there wasn't any war. But now? Was this all even necessary? This was a battle between their parents, not them. It seemed wrong, yet right. "He's actually doing it." The female said quietly. "Leading Vigilance into this war seems wrong. Am I fine? Maybe." Her voice was now barely a whisper. A shiver went through her body, as she opened her eyes once more. She kept them averted, darting anywhere, except Maya. Maybe it was shame for being so hesitant. Maybe it was fear of being uncertain.

"I suppose you're right." She said finally, giving an uneasy smile. "Should we be doing anything to prepare Vigilance?" Sorita said thoughtfully, with a tilt of her head. Her mind drifted off. Kodix.. Kodix would do the unexpected. So perhaps he would launch the war at night, instead of in broad daylight where many others could see and scent them before they took a step in Vigilance borders. But still. Kodix was unpredictable. She would have to have a little 'chat' with him. The mere thought sent shivers down her spine. "I think.. Everyone should be prepared to fight, even the pups, dams, etc. If Odious decides to raid our camp, there's no telling what the defenseless would do against them." She said firmly. "Knowing Kodix, that's probably exactly what he would do. But think about it." The female pointed out. "We'll still have the advantage of launching pre-organized sneak attacks."

Nite watched from the shadows. She felt it was time to show herself, but then again, maybe not. She stood from a laying down potition. Lifting her muzzle to the sky, she howled hauntingly, to let Odius pack know she was there and she was no threat if they were no threat either. Lowering her muzzle, she smiled, and began to move into the deep forest, waiting to see a whole troupe of wolves come marching to her. A boulder sat just to her right, of which she walked to and jumped onto. She sat in wait, her melanistic coat blended in with the shadows.
