She hauled the vole close and began to eat in neat bites.

Mousestar padded into his den, pressing his cheek against the stone protection of his den. He was sure she didn't feel the same, but its better to be honest with her than to be going silently insane. He sat on his nest, nestling his nose between his paws, closing his bright green eyes.

She finished her vole quickly. ``I'll be right back!`` Ashrunner called to Moonpaw, padding towards Mousestar's den.
