What are Nile River Equids?

Nile River Equids (NREs) are a sub-breed of Mustangs who were discovered to be living in Africa. They tend to range anywhere from 12 hh to 16 hh, while there have been known to be slightly smaller or larger. These horses tend to be able to sustain themselves on a minimal amount of water and food, they can travel long distances and have extraordinary stamina. The people who discovered these animals found that they were extraordinarily friendly and the braided tails are a sign that the NRE is domesticated or belongs to another person.

Dove is quiet and gentle mare that would never harm a soul. She does not speak much and prefers to listen and be someone that others can come to just to talk about their worries. She is a little shy though and it takes some time for her to warm up to others, but once she does she is very friendly and loving, always willing to be there for them. She is graceful and loves disciplines such as dressage and jumping, though she will perform in other disciplines if her owner or rider desires it of her. She can be a bit free-spirited, loving to run and enjoying wide open spaces and blue sky. She loves sunny days with blue skies the most, preferably in the summer season or early fall. She is very attached to her home and would hate to ever leave the stables she grew up in, so she works hard to excel in shows so that she will never be sold off or re-homed.

Relationships:
A Glimpse Of Sunshine || Ray - Dove appreciates this stallion as a friend, especially when he makes jokes and tries to pick up the spirits of the herd. Many see him as a goof off, but she sees him as a kind and considerate stallion that just wants to take care of his family through his humor. She does not mind his flirting, she actually finds it amusing, unlike how she felt when she first met him. She always tells him how his name really suites him, how he is a ray of light among the herd, even in troubling or tension filled times.

A Lick Of Pride || Ayuf - A very prideful and stubborn stallion, Dove find him hard to handle and reason with, but she is impressed by his loyalty. Despite being stubborn and egotistical, Dove looks at the good side, there is no stallion who would be more loyal a friend, family member, or even mate to the lucky mare who could look past and put up with stubborn self. Dove could not though, she'd rather someone a little more reasonable to be with, but she does look up to him for his loyalty.

Malakuti || Mala - Doves thinks of this mare as a good friend, always wanting to be gentle and always a caring mare, though clumsy she may be. Dove is always amazed by her height and can seem to get over how much taller the white mare is compared to her. She does feel bad for this mare on occasion when she knocks things over or gets placed in a smaller stall that she would like. Dove tends to be there to try and make things better and give the mare company when she is having a bad day.

With Owl Eyes || Buma - An intelligent and wise stallion, or he really thinks. Dove knows he does no know everything, but is always amazed by his willingness to learn and his great memory. He can learn something once, maybe twice, and remember the gist of it. Memorizing word for word takes a little longer, but not at long as it would take for most others. She is glad to have the watchful stallion in the herd since he always seems to be alert, looking for either new things to discover or for danger, the herd is not ever completely sure which one his is always keeping his eyes open for.

Look For The Silver Lining || Rautril - Dove finds the positive and encouraging stallion someone she enjoys having around. She enjoys his positive attitude, even when things don't go completely right for her or the herd. She finds she does have to remind him to take care of himself and does worry about him at times when he works a little too hard and neglects his own health. On one hand he can pick up Dove's spirits, on the other he worries her to no end with his selflessness.

Habits, Hobbies and Quirks:

• Dove loves to watch the barn sparrows fly in and around the barn. The owner never get rid of them each year, enjoying their company and Dove enjoys seeing them around. She may even try to mimic their sounds once and a while when no one else is around, though she normally fails to sound anything like them.
• She loves to collect feather, keeping piles of them in the shelter until they get blown away or trampled on by the others sometimes, and even manages to sneak them into her stall in the stable. Her owners often wonder how she managed to sneak the feather past them, but they just clean the feathers when they get the chance, or clean them and use them for decorate something, normally Dove's halter or tack to appease the mare.
• Doves often lets birds like the sparrows, pigeons or doves sit on her back, neck or even the top of her head. Her owners often come out to find her with a bird of some sort on her back and even a whole flock of birds. I never ceases to shock or surprise them when she has a flock sitting on her back staring at them.

I will impress you with a rant about why cats are misunderstood.
Cats are widely known as mean, and useless to many people. Yes it may be true that cats can be difficult to get along with sometimes, but you cannot necessarily blame them. Cats are less domesticated as dogs, it is just a fact. Yes, some dog and cat breeds may vary in domestication, but in reality cats are more feral. Cats also don't "Need" love or a pack like dogs do. Dogs are pack animals, and cats aren't. My point is, it takes effort to get along with a cat or get it to love you. Sure, if you give it food and water you'll get along, but in order to develop a bond with your cat, you need to be patient and persistent. Not pulling-your-cats-tail persistent, but keep loving your cat even if it claws at you or hisses. If you adopt a cat when it is young it's easier, but when a cat is older sometimes they are hard to get along with. Since it takes effort to get to a point where your cat loves you, a lot of people just don't like them as much. I used to hate cats, but I realized that if you treat them well, almost any cat will love you if you're consistent. I love dogs too, but I sympathize with cats more because there are many more cats without homes. I'm not saying cats are better than dogs, they are just misunderstood more often than dogs are. This is also my personal opinion, so don't get angry XD

Fun-Fact: Cats were worshiped in Egypt, where they were first domesticated. Egyptians would have the cats catch mice and other pests that ate their grain and food.
