Pikeflower rested his head on his paws as he murmured, "I love you too." It was lucky that the tom couldn't see so well or else he undoubtedly would have blamed himself for One-eye's flinching. He probably would have decided that the other tom didn't understand jokes and so he would he resolved to never tease or joke around with him again. But all Pikeflower saw was what looked like the blurry outline of a cat he knew was One-eye move slightly.
Wolfpaw wasn't about to wait around for Mallowstem to change her mind. She quickly bound off to return to Adderstrike so that she could start her training.
"What? No!" Bumblestep exclaimed, sounding completely shocked by the question. "She never said anything about that. I'm happy just being her friend!"
Lightheart shook his head slightly before speaking, "No. I just forgot about something is all."

Adderstrike;;
"How'd you get her to let you go?" Adderstrike joked, beginning to lead the way outside the camp. "Y'know, I don't think she likes me much. What-with taking your brother out a few moons(?) ago."
One-eye;;
One-eye purred, lifting his head to just stare at Pikeflower- when he noticed Mistyclaw across the clearing. "Pikeflower," he meowed in an urgent tone. "Mistyclaw is back."

Pikeflower frowned and said, "Okay." He couldn't control where Mistyclaw went or what she did but he could easily choose not to seek her out or even talk to her when not necessary. It wasn't like he actually wanted Mistyclaw gone from the clan permanently, in fact he never asked her to leave at all, since that would virtually be a death sentence at her age. He might always cast a cold shoulder towards the cat he once loved so dearly but he wasn't a heartless tom who wished death upon her.
Wolfpaw gave a small shrug. "She never said anything about it. Wildpaw should have gotten in trouble if you ask me but she never even scolded him."
