Tawnypaw bounded up to Pantherclaw and brushed her flank against his. "Lucky! Now I'll be so cold all by myself in the apprentice den..." she trailed off and shivered, her tortoiseshell coat twitching.

Oakstar padded into her den and instantly blurted, "Sagemint, I'm sorry, it's been rough with all the deaths... I just feel as if my clan is falling apart at the one mistake I made... killing Splashfeather," she sat down across from him, and continued, "You don't understand why I said Tawnypaw is special, do you?" her voice was strained and tired as she scratched behind her ear.
