What are Nile River Equids?

Nile River Equids (NREs) are a sub-breed of Mustangs who were discovered to be living in Africa. They tend to range anywhere from 12 hh to 16 hh, while there have been known to be slightly smaller or larger. These horses tend to be able to sustain themselves on a minimal amount of water and food, they can travel long distances and have extraordinary stamina. The people who discovered these animals found that they were extraordinarily friendly and the braided tails are a sign that the NRE is domesticated or belongs to another person.

Quirk: October's quirk is that she absolutely adores birds. If she's out in the pasture you will often see her chase after the native birds that land in the pasture to eat. The birds, well they take her attempts at friendship to be attempts on their lives, so they always scatter as soon as October notices them. For the longest time October was forced to just watch the birds fly above her pasture. Until her owner bought her a brand new friend. The Mare was overjoyed when her owner introduced her to the budgie named Gidget. Every since then they have been the greatest friends, and October retains her love for birds.

Quirk: Bell was formerly a racehorse, but was re-homed to Saltaire farm. However, his time on the track had left him with many quirks. Each time he hears bells, he spooks. This became evident around Christmas - when Saltaire decorates the stall doors with stocking and wreaths, and also, bells. Each time a horse so much as brushed against a wreath, Bell would freak. He even spooked when he was being ridden in the front arena. The trainers eventually figured out why he freaked out whenever he heard a bell. It was because in racing, they train horses to begin running when they hear the start bell. The trainers realized this would eventually become a bigger problem, and instead of removing the bells from the barn, trained him to be calm around the sound of bells. The rest of the winter consisted of desensitizing him to the sound of bells. It was successful, and even worked better than expected! He grew to love bells, and was re-named "Bell" (His original name was Troy). There is now a pair of bells on his stall door, and even a pair inside his stall, for him to play with. He loves the sound now, and he always seems excited when Christmas comes around, because the whole barn is filled with bells!

Quirk: Feather's little quirk is her love of tails. She is constantly grooming her tail and sometimes bites other horses' tails, trying to neaten them up. She often has another horse clean her tail for her, even if it's already clean. She'll flick it around constantly, using it as a teaser or just to annoy another horse. She loves how it's braided, so she'll constantly flip it up somewhere like over the fence.

She doesn't pick and choose who it is, and she isn't prejudiced against anyone either; if walking through the stables just expect a quick flick if you pass her by!

Judging by the name you can probably what previously known as ' waves ' likes, and has inherited as her name. Okay likes, is a strong word, and by strong I mean completely opposite. She hates the little devils and purposefully will crush them with her hooves and even fling them in the air. Trail ride ; stomp, stomp, training ; hulk SMASH !, grooming ; ninja style. She'll do it anywhere, anytime. In fact she probably could win any championship involving the chaotic destruction of pine cones. We don't know why she thinks they're the devil but she just does, though she is afraid of them and it's not a trauma thing either. She just casually, innocently and completely angelic like hates their guts and therefore stomps their guts. To her she just knows there is gonna be an apocolypse where pine cones enslave all others including her and rule the world. So she's gonna go out if her way to smash as many soon to be powerful enemies as she can. Really in her mind we should be thanking her.
