Whispernight wasn't sure but she go into a hunters position. She pounced on the mouse and it slipped out from under her paws. She sighed and laid down. "I'm useless... Maybe I should just retire early..." She mewed sadly.

I stopped in my tracks. "Do you smell that?" I asked Paintsplatter. "It smells like a... Fox." I growled. "What's a fox doing on my territory!"

"No way!" Bearstrike objected. "You can't retire until we have kits!" He meowed, just realizing what he had said.

Paintsplatter growled. "Let's get back to camp and ready the warriors." He mewed, turning and picking up his pace.

I nodded and was turning around to make way towards camp when I heard the low growl of a fox. "It's too late. If we go back to camp now, we'll just be leading it to them and there's no way to tell how much damage it'll do." I told Paintsplatter. I turned around. "We have to fight this thing ourselves." I said before lunging towards the fox, swiping and dodging.

Paintsplatter nodded. He had fought many foxes on his own during his journey. He leaped at the fox and slashed it's eyes, blinding it. He then rammed into its side, knocking it over before latching his teeth in it's throat. After lots of struggle and dodging and help from Owlstar biting its throat as well, the fox died in their jaws.
