Why would they pretend to be evil, though?

I don't think they are pretending, more like they are cast as evil by the "Heros". You know, to keep the Heros in power and so that they are believed to be good. Something like that?

I was thinking of doing that, but I'm not sure ideas I should put up.

Poll ideas:

Main character good bad guy,
Main character bad good guy.
Main character neither, one of the kids whe gets taken.

And once we've decided, we can do another poll.

I think it's decided that the good bad guys are keeping people in a 'safe' place where they can control them. The bad good guys are snatching children out of this world to save them, but those inside the city think they're killed or taken as slaves or something. When more and more of the children are taken, one of the bad good guys goes to take them back.
Now, maybe the person who goes to take them back is just a normal person, and their sibling is taken or something. They sneak out, and the bad good guys find out and try to stop MC or something, because they don't want her to find out the truth. But she goes anyway, and finds that the bad good guys are actually good, and joins them – helping them save more people and finding her sibling as well.

Okay then. By the way, I think we should call the good bad guys the good guys, and bad good guys the bad guys, until we decide on a good name.

I have changed my mind and decided to agree with this perspective and idea, I think a normal person being the protag would be a great idea.

i agree with Shanks. I wasn't solid with this idea, but now I think its a perfect solution.
