Personality
Taleh is extremely outgoing. She loves talking and sometimes
she just spits out jibberish just to be able to talk. She is often
found talking to herself or singing when she's alone. It provides
her comfort and a sense of worth.
Taleh, believe it or not, has struggled with self worth. She has
a lower self-esteem and tries to contradict it with talking and
having others listen to her. Because of how much she depends
on talking, she isn't a very good listener. She gets distracted
very quickly and usually would daydream instead of listening to
her elder's stories. She had gotten in trouble multiple times
because of this. She does make an effort not to, but it's getting
to the point where she's hearing the same stories. In her head,
she's making up new stories, new adventures. She prefers the
idea of making new history over hearing old history. It's how
she was taught.
Taleh is also extremely rambunctious. When she's not talking or
making things, she's often found climbing. This is partly because
of her ability to climb and also because she's easily distracted.

Homea's Backstory
this is going to be extremely long and in depth fyi
Homea was a spanish woman born into royalty. Her life as a
child was extremely sugar coated. She didn't know anything
about poverty, famine, or any diseases. All she knew was that
as long as the king and queen rule, everything is okay.
One day, her servant was talking to her. Trying to make small
talk, they mentioned a nasty disease that was killing many
people, which they had called Holimea. Homea then quickly
began to learn about all the problems within her kingdom.
She ran away, disguising herself to get through the town and
she then stowed away on a ship heading for the islands of
Hawaii.
Once she got there, she was found. They kicked her off and
warned her never to show her face around their ship again.
She knew she could never stay in the village there, as she
would be caught by the crew. She bought some supplies and
walked. After walking for a long time, her supplies began to
run out and she had to begin to make her own food and clothes.
She quickly realised she could climb trees for food, so she
practised climbing trees. She made shirts and shorts out of hides
collected from animals she had killed, and she used flowers to
keep her life from becoming too dull.
After some more travelling, she came across the small village of
Huna'Ola, meaning Hidden Life. The village was named this
because it's meant to be an unknown village. It's so far away
from other villages, most don't make it all the way out. They run
out of supplies before they make it there.
Homea's arrival sparked hope in the village, which had recently
fallen into starvation. Homea's knowledge of climbing trees
granted them a way out of this famine, and allowed their life
to continue on.
Homea didn't just come and go though, she fell in love with a man
named Hopu. Hopu was one of the ones she had taught how to
climb trees, and together they had three children. Two girls and
a boy.
The boy was the oldest (only by a couple minutes) and definitely
the middle one. He wasn't too strong, not too weak, not too
talented, he was kind of the average one.

His twin sister was the strongest. She climbed trees like nobodys
business and she was very protective of her siblings.

The last girl, a few years younger than her siblings, was very
different. Her eyes were always covered by hair and her body
was frail. The two things that made her so extremely special
were a) One of her pupils was shaped like a leaf and b) Her hair
grew faster than even her mothers.

It wasn't long before Homea decided she wanted to return home.
She decided that she was going to return home with her twins
and husband, leaving the youngest, Kanu, with the village.
The chief quickly questioned her decision.
"Homea, why would you leave your weakest child to keep us
safe? There is not much that Kanu can do to protect us, unlike
Makau," He narrowed his eyes. Makau, the strongest girl, would
be a much better protecter than Kanu.
"Kanu is much stronger than Makau. Kanu knows much more and
can guide this village into prosperity." Homea answered calmly.
"I can not doubt you when you put it that way, Homea. I will
trust you. I hope you do visit before you pass away."
Upsettingly, the ship had been attacked. The twins, who felt
that Kanu needed protective, older siblings, had jumped off a
little earlier. Once they had reached the shore of the island they
looked back to a loud explosion, and watched as the ship sank.

Why Homea?
Homea was the name of a princess
who had travelled to Taleh's home
village long ago. The village had
been struggling with food and were
losing villagers to starvation. This
princess came and taught them how
to find more food, specifically food
that grows high on trees. It's very
difficult to collect these foods, and
those who could were considered
very high-class.
Nowadays, they had an influx of
food recently and most people have
either forgotten how to climb the
trees or the ones who could passed
away. The influx of food didn't hold
them over for very long, and the
village is starving again. Taleh was
born and when she was five she was
already climbing trees to gather
food from the top. After the
villagers got a good look at the
young child, they realised that she
very closely resembled their
princess, Homea, and began to call
her that.

What significance does Taleh's
relation to their Princess, Homea,
have?
The significance is that both times
the village was starving and a woman
had come to save them. Without
Homea, the village would've starved
to death. Without Taleh, the village
would've starved to death. The two's
similar looks have lead to multiple
conspiracies in the village, such as a
reincarnation, Taleh's spirit was
blessed by Homea, or even that
Homea's spirit is possessing Taleh,
giving her the ability to climb trees.
Which one is true? That's completely up
to you.

What is her Daily Life like?
For Taleh, it's usually being awoken by
the younger ones in her village. Their
rambunctious minds waking them up at
dawn. She always goes and wakes the
elders so they can tell stories to calm
the kids. Once the stories start, Taleh
goes and cleans up the kids hut. The
kids, once they feel they're old enough
move into the kids hut. Its a way for
them to get more independent.
Once it's all neat and tidy, the stories
are usually done. She takes a few kids
out everyday to find food. Once they
return, she teaches them how to cook
the food. Once lunch has been made,
she teaches the kids that they must
serve the elders before they can eat.
After everyone has finished eating,
she takes the kids out to play some
games. They play team games, free-
for-alls, etc. As you can tell, Taleh
mostly works with teaching kids.
Although her role might be a food
gatherer, she often needs help and
teaches along the way. The kids call
her 'Anake, which means Aunt. She
loves the kids.
Once night falls, she always makes
sure the kids are sleeping before she
falls asleep. If a kid is having issues
falling asleep or is having nightmares,
she invites them to come lie with her.
The village often sees Taleh as sort
of a demi-god, so they love it when
she does kind acts and really shows
the kids what its like to be a member
of the village.

In the future, Taleh would love to leave
her village and explore the world beyond.

A permanently nervous Plumie who has a hard time trying anything new, Meraud is a mystery to
most. 99% of the time she's holed up her room with the rocks that she loves dearly. Most of the friends
she has she met online, with the exception of Noor since they live on the same island. She stammers
when nervous, and since she feels this way almost always, stammering has pretty much become her
natural speech pattern.
Meraud has a fascination with rocks. To be honest, it's probably an unhealthy obsession; she can identify
rock types from a glance, has spent thousands of dollars on rare rocks, and once had Noor walk in on
her while she was talking to them. She values her rocks more than she values people, and honestly just
finds it easier being around the small objects. She's basically just a huge rock nerd, and loves rock puns.
Despite her overall character, Meraud has great physical strength. She's tall and stocky, and when tested
by one of her friends they found out that she could bench 350lbs. She doesn't really realize how strong she
actually is, so if she goes in to hug someone they'll often tell her to stop because they can't breathe.
She becomes a stammering mess when she apologizes, and will feel bad for days afterwards.
Meraud is never seen without a hat. Ever. It's sort of a comfort thing; makes her feel more secure. Plus,
there's nothing worse than getting a sunburnt scalp when you're in the middle of excavating some
amethyst. She's not picky about what kind of hat she's wearing, so long as it protects her head and is
appropriate for the weather.
Meraud has to listen to music while she's working. In her opinion, it's much easier to get things done when
you can do it to a certain beat. One of the first things she brought with him to the island was her trusty
radio, which she takes everywhere she goes.

Noor:
Meraud had heard a rumour that there was an island that was full of
a stone called Banded Sardonyx. Immediately, Meraud knew that she
had to have one to add to her collection. Unfortunately, she had
no idea how to get to the island. So she waited on the beach, looking
for any Kalon that matched the vague description she had been
given of the island's two residents. She was at the beach for four
days before she met Noor. It took her a full hour to work up the
courage to approach. Noor didn't really see why the rocks were so
important (despite Meraud explaining it over and over), but
eventually they let Meraud onto their boat and sailed to the island.
Meraud was given two conditions; don't hurt any animals, and don't
disturb Noor. Meraud agreed to the terms, and set off on her quest.
It turned out that the rumours were true; the place was filled with
Banded Sardonyx! It gave Meraud an idea. Breaking rule number two,
Meraud approached Noor and asked them if she could live on the
island. At first, Noor outright refused, and threatened to send
Meraud back to the mainland. But Meraud promised to build the house
on the other end of the island, and would cover all the costs.
Somewhat reluctantly, Noor agreed.
Three years later, and the two now get along very well. Meraud has
learned all of the ins and outs of life on the island, and using her
precious rocks she was even able to build a protective wall around
the island's only dock. Occasionally, Noor drops off some food, but
for the most part, they only interact when they sail to the mainland
to stock up on supplies.

ᴏᴄᴄᴜᴘᴀᴛɪᴏɴ;;
Meraud is a rock dealer. She deals specifically in quartz stones,
which is half the reason she moved to such a sardonyx-rich
environment. She runs a rock trading website called Digging Deeper,
and actually makes good money. Her friends are amazed at just
how much money people are willing to spend on rocks.
Meraud is very careful when it comes to the environment. She
mines the sardonyx in small and controlled amounts, to avoid
damaging the homes of any animals or running out of the
expensive stone. Because she's so careful about mining and cutting
the stones, her sardonyx can sell for up to $2,000, depending on
things like size, quality, and cut.
