The mare chuckled darkly. "Not when it's out of water." She side stepped away from the fence and flirtatiously motioned for him to come over with her tail.

Renegade shook his head slightly with a light nicker then jumped the fence with ease.
It was then that he noticed Veteran and his eyes opened wide.

Veteran groaned and rolled over onto his belly. He glared up at his brother and huffed irritably. "Did you have to wake me up?"

Firefly sighed. Well well....there's goes my chance... She stood not too close, but not too far either. She wanted to give them space, but also wanted to stay close enough to steal her boy away from the new horse. "Ren?"

"Lazy bones," he said warmly, giving his brother and uncharacteristic head bump, tousling Veteran's man with his muzzle. "I missed you," he said softly. Then he glanced at Firefly. "She can't get enough of me," he said jokingly.

"I've missed you." Veteran nudged his brother in return. The classic champagne looked between his brother and the impatient mare. After a few seconds he ended up rolling on his back and laughed uncontrollably. "I can't handle you and she wants all of you!" he laughed like this for a moment's and looked up at his brother. "You better take care of that one. She sees something no one else can. Treat her right and she might make you feel alive. That's what you've been wanting, isn't it?"

Renegade chuckled. "Whatever you say, brother. Whatever you say." Then he glanced at Bella who was standing quietly on the other side of the fence, her gaze locked onto something beyond Renegade.
"You should meet her," he whispered.

The elder brother rolled his eyes. "When will you stop pushing me towards mares? I have no time for them." He glanced over at the other mare and sighed. He jumped up onto his hooves and cringed as his leg felt as though it were being stabbed. Fine. He'll at least say hello. Stiffly he began to walk towards the fence and towards the other mare.

Renegade had tried to strike up a conversation with the lively filly who was standing patiently (Well, sort of patiently) and waiting for him.


Bella had been staring off into the distance and didn't hear him coming until he was right in front of her. She blinked out of her reverie and just stared for a minute, her blue-green eyes bright with a sudden curiosity.

The stallion snorted and sighed. "I'm suppose to say hello. I apologize for my brother. He generally is a hooffull."

Firefly giggled and gently bumped his shoulder and bounced off playfully. "Who was that other stallion?" The filly pranced around him energetically.

She shrugged, "No need to apologize. I have gotten used to his strange ways by now." Her tone was soft, but not lacking a certain energy all her own.


"My brother," he said with a soft whinny of amusement.
