Believing that he was hearing things, he let out a soft noise of distress and quickly covered his ears with his hands, drawing his feet up onto the bench and his knees close to his chest.

His eyes widened at the sight of her and he shook his head, before screwing his eyes closed.
"You're not here.... Yoi went with him"
He moaned softly to himself.

Sensing how close she was, he slowly opened his eyes and removed his hands from his ears.

He said softly, his voice cracking as he spoke.
