((@Sith, please try to tone down Venuspaw's powers. In the books, prophecies aren't always what they seem, and they never reveal everything, and the sometimes come prematurely. ((Goosefeather's prophecies for example))
Please refrain from having Venuspaw see too much of the future. The past is fine, but try not to have her see too much of what is to come. Also...no matter what Venuspaw says, Stormstar is still going to be a stubborn headed leader. Think of her attitude as that of Bluestar, whenever Firepaw/heart tried to convince her that Tigerclaw was going to betray them. She just won't mentally fall apart after the betrayal ((since she'll be dead))

Stormstar gave a low growl I will not judge a cat for something he has not done. Remember, there was a time when many of us were loners, rouges, and even kittypets ourselves. her eyes narrowed, and she stared into Venuspaw's mis-matched eyes for a moment, before turning around and joining Grasspaw and Bluetail. Are you two ready to go?

Snowcloud slid out of camp. It was a quiet morning, and the birds were just now waking up. Snowcloud planned on heading towards the middle of the territory. He took the path that the Medicine Cats usually took to get to the MoonTree. A large tree on the outskirts of their territory, the MoonTree glowed pure silver with the Power of Starclan. Small glowing rocks surrounded the clearing the tree grew in, and kept it safe from intruders.

Tanglewhisker was sitting in his nest in the elders den, his eyes closed as he sat and rested. Wonder if the leader will visit today he thought, not referring to Stormstar, but the leader of the secret traitors, who had approached, and requited him not that long ago. Yawning and flicking his tail, he also wondered if any apprentices would show up and clear out the moss.

((Figured I should do an intro post for Shadowbreath, so here it is.
I would also like to announce that there is now an updates page, so if you ever want to know of any updates, just scroll down on the front page, its the 8th post down, formerly the post that announced this was open. For those of you who don't want to, I'll simply state what I placed on it, that made me realize there should be an updates page. More of Stormclan's history has been revealed on the Our Past and Future post (formerly Plot and Prophecies) and the leader of the Secret Traitors made (Shadowbreath) so...ya.))

The dark tabby she-cat padded out of the Warriors Den. She spotted her Secret-Deputy headed for the warriors den, possibly to find Fireblossom, since she had heard Snowcloud pick the she-cat for a patrol. Shadoebreath's violet gaze flicked across the camp. Snowcloud was headed outside, Stormstar was standing near Grasspaw and Bluetail, and Windfall was standing next to Fernpaw, obviously waiting for the rest of their patrol...speaking of, Maplestream was headed for the apprentices den, most likely picking up her apprentice. Turning her gaze to the nursery, she tilted her head, and then turned to the camp entrance I need to do some major plotting she thought, making her way to the hidden cave she had found early on when she had infiltrated Stormclan. Entering the cave, she sat down, and began to do what she did best...plot.

If I can find a way to ensure that Honeykit becomes my apprentice, then I'm sure I could get her to follow along with the plans. She has plenty of potential, and could make a great recruit for the cause, but how do I ensure that she is given to me?

Bluetail dipped his head. “Okay, Snowcloud.” He purred at his enthusiastic apprentice. “Good morning, Grasspaw.” This patrol would be a good chance to practice Grasspaw’s scenting. She’d been doing well as a warrior, but he was worried she wasn’t focusing as of recently. He had noticed Redfeather asking her to run a few errands. He’d have to remind her that medicine cat duties were not warrior duties. Speaking of medicine cats, Venuspaw was now conversing with Stormstar, thus putting off the border patrol even more. When they finished, Bluetail said, “We’re ready, Stormstar.” He explained to his apprentice as they walked toward the camp entrance, “If the opportunity shows itself, I want to see how your scenting is coming along, Grasspaw.”

She looked at Kitecry, sleeping soundly in the nursery. Honeykit had kept her awake all night because she kept hearing owls in the forest. Now Kitecry was fast asleep and Honeykit was awake and bored. She contemplated about going to see Redfeather and Venuspaw in the medicine cat’s den, but last time she had tried to see what herbs they were working with Redfeather had sent her outside. So if that wasn’t going to work, then maybe she could visit the elders! Maybe they’d even give her a story! She ran out of the nursery and started toward the elders’ den.

He opened his eyes when he heard Tanglewhisker stir. He hadn’t really been asleep, but hadn’t been quite ready to wake up, either. Now that he had someone to talk to, though, he figured it was probably about time enough. Life as an elder was relaxing, especially during peacetimes, but it could get fairly boring if you were alone. He smiled at his denmate. “Good morning, Tanglewhisker. Have the patrols been sent out yet?” He wondered if they’d spared any apprentices to tend to them.

He sniffed the dry storage of borage. It looked like they’d be looking for some of that today. Then he would send Venuspaw to check the elders for ticks. He walked out to the camp and stopped in surprise. Stormstar and Venuspaw looked like they were having a very heated discussion. Before he could hear what was being discussed, they broke apart. He approached his young apprentice, confused. “What was that all about?”

Stormstar made her way outside the camp once Bluetail and Grasspaw confirmed they were ready. Her blue eyes scanned the territory around her as she made her way to the Fallen Ash. It would be easier on their paws since they were starting there, and the territory was mostly grass from there to the river, though the forest did cut the grass strips in half.

Snowcloud paused when he was about three fourths of the way to the Moonlit clearing, where the MoonTree grew, and he opened his mouth to try and scent prey. Catching a whiff of mouse, he dropped to his paws in a crouch, and began to stalk the scent, as he was still unable to determine where exactly it was coming from

Tanglewhisker turned when Sandstream spoke They've been picked, but most of them haven't left yet he muttered, twitching his tail in irritation. All the apprentices have been chosen he added, a twang of annoyance working its way into his voice.

Shadowbreath rose to her paws. She had decided on a way to at least get Honeykit warmed up to her. Carefully scenting the air, Shadowbreath bounded out of the cave, and made her way back to camp. She was about to head for the nursery, but she spotted the young she-kit in the clearing, possibly on her way to the elders den. Making her way towards the kit, Shadowbreath put on a friendly face and purred "Good morning Honeykit, off to see the elders?"

They were headed toward Fallen Ash. The soft grass offered a lot of cover for prey and he could scent some, but that would be for the hunting patrol to get. This was a border patrol. He was fairly sure that there was a vole just over the tree, though. He turned to his apprentice. “What can you smell?”

She beamed up at Shadowbreath. “I am!” An idea occurred to her. It was much better than sitting through a story from the elders. And if Shadowbreath wasn’t busy, then maybe she’d say yes! “Actually, can you teach me how to fight?” Shadowbreath was a great warrior! She knew all sorts of battle moves!

He scratched at a flea behind his ear. There would be an apprentice soon enough. He could be patient. He spoke to Lilysong, “They’re sending all of the apprentices on patrol.” He got up and stretched. “I’m going to grab something from the fresh-kill pile. Care to join me?”
(Is it okay if Sandstream had a small crush on Lilysong, even though their elders?)

He looked around to make sure no one was overhearing the conversation. "Let's go back to the den to discuss this." He led her to the den. It was important not to let anyone else hear this information. “Tell me exactly what you saw with as much detail as you can.” He would see what he could do to prevent this, but if he could prevent turning on his own clanmate, then he would. He could understand why Venuspaw would say that Stormstar was too trusting, but trust was key when you were the leader of a clan. If you couldn’t trust your own warriors, then who could you trust?

Venuspaw followed her mentor back to the den and said "I didn't see any foxes or badgers, but that doesn't mean there weren't any, right? My predictions don't always come true the way we expect them, but I saw Nightshade attacking the camp. Stormstar is so stubborn that she doesn't want to believe that there may be traitors in the Clan."
