"Like a log, I was worn out from the vigil." he told her, moving on to the fur around the scars on his back. "I'm glad you slept ok."
He wondered what the day would bring. Perhaps he would go on his first patrol as a warrior today. He quickly glanced around for Azurestar or Fawncloud, but saw neither of them.

She was already hunting by the time the sun came up. So far, she hadn't caught anything, and blamed it on the snow. The crunching sound the snow made scared most prey off, and she wasn't experienced enough to know how to solve the problem. She sighed and kept moving, head raised to the air to pick up scents. The snow absorbed any scents that were left on the ground.

He was about to ask if Morningpaw could help him collect more Coltsfoot, as the seasons were getting colder and it would be harder to manage without it, until he remembered what had happened. He flattened his ears to his head sadly. Morningpaw was so upset with him, she had left the den and slept in one of the hollow logs at the edge of camp. He frowned as he glanced back at Blackheart, making sure he was okay.

His eyes flickered open. Crimsonfur had a very hard time sleeping, despite his drowsy feeling. His joints ached as he rose to his paws and shuffled out into the cold. Perhaps he could talk to Morningpaw or Swanfeather about it. He looked around the clearing and saw Morningpaw eating some fresh kill, so he padded over, "Hello, Morningpaw." he mewed, sitting beside the apprentice. "How did you sleep?"

"Terrible." She hissed. "Swanfeather was up my tail at how I left to just go to the river! And he's so protective of me seeing Yellowpaw. It's not like we're mates, or anything mouse-brained. We're just friends, right? He doesn't get mad that I'm friends with Acornpaw or Smallpaw, but Yellowpaw is a big No-No, isn't he? Like I can't even purr around him without him clawing my ears off!" She ranted to the tom. After she finished, she realized that Swanfeather was only protective because he cared for her. Not that he loved her in a way that would make it against the code, but like father and daughter. She blinked, staring off in the distance, remembering everything he did that seemed irrational to her at the moment, but now seems to all come together.
