He looked up from washing the fur around his face and saw Acornpaw padding over to him. He smiled and stopped his bath, standing up to greet her. He brushed his tail against her shoulder, then sat down again once she made herself comfortable.
"Good morning," he purred. "Did you sleep ok?"
He resumed washing himself, moving down to his shoulders and front legs. The cold weather bothered his scars, but he wasn't about to admit it. They ached with a dull pain, but he'd always been able to work through it.

She was already hunting by the time the sun came up. So far, she hadn't caught anything, and blamed it on the snow. The crunching sound the snow made scared most prey off, and she wasn't experienced enough to know how to solve the problem. She sighed and kept moving, head raised to the air to pick up scents. The snow absorbed any scents that were left on the ground.

Swanfeather blinked away his dream and slowly began to rise from his nest to check on Blackheart. Everything seemed normal, but he assumed the warrior would want to eat when he woke up, So he exited the den and went into the snow covered clearing. The Medicine cat selected a vole, and padded back to the den. He dropped the prey a mouse tail length away from Blackhearts jaw, before taking quick inventory.

Morningpaw had been so mad the night before, she collected some moss by the river, and even made a new nest in one of the other fallen logs in camp. She was furious at Swanfeather, and why he treated her like a kit. She woke in her new nest, and stretched. At first she didn't recognize where she was, and called out. "Swanfea-" the she stopped, and remembered. She immediately got grumpy again, and went over to the fresh-kill pile where she saw her mentor. She avoided any interaction with him. Once she saw he was there, she walked with her head bowed, scooped up a mouse, and padded back; tail raised and chin high. She ate her meal in tense silence.
