The Exile wrote:Four. Riverclan's numbers were down
to a measly four, one of whom had
murdered their clanmates. Fate
hadn't exactly been kind to the clan,
as once again they were sat in a small
circle: a leader, a deputy, and two kits.
The evening was silent as the sun set,
casting an ominous red light across
the Riverclan camp. Fawnstar was the
first to speak, "I can't believe it's come
to this... four of us, and yet even now,
one cat sat here is a murderer" All four
cats had haunted looks on their faces;
the murderer wasn't going to be caught
easily.
The votes were cast. It was a close call,
one vote for Whitedawn, Poppykit, and
Fawnstar. Minnowkit was the last to vote,
and so, with a fearful sigh, she whispered
the name "Fawnstar". All four cats fell
silent, none of them quite sure what to say.
Eventually, Fawnstar stood, a mixture of
sadness and anger in her eyes, "I will leave,
but I would never kill my own clan" the
she-cat huffed, turning and stalking out
of the Riverclan camp.
Fawnstar travelled to the Moonpool, hoping
to get some guidance from Starclan on what
to do next. She had, after all, only just
received her nine lives. Starclan advised her
to travel for two days towards the rising sun,
where, once she reached a river as blue as the
sky, she would find a group of loners willing to
start a clan of their own. Starclan warned her,
however that they would not be able to follow
her there, and so, bidding farewell, she set out
on her journey.
Many moons later, rumors circulate at the
gathering that a new clan is growing closer
to the lake: Streamclan.
You have exiled a witness!
Has Riverclan's time come to an end?
With no other choice, Whitedawn becomes
leader of the clan, but does not risk leaving
Minnowkit and Poppykit, and does not receive
her 9 lives.
The Kill wrote:The sun had almost set, and the first
traces of silverpelt were appearing
in the sky. The murderer strolled out
of their den, and headed towards
Whitestar, who was curled up, eyes
closed but not asleep. The newly
appointed leader hadn't recieved
her nine lives, and so the murderer
was convinced that this would be
a walk in the park.
Who would've thought a kit could
be the downfall of Riverclan?
The murderer padded up to Whitestar,
who lifted her head as they approached.
With sad eyes, the new leader didn't
have any fight left in her, "I knew it was
you...I saw you...I saw you..." she
whispered, her voice cracking as she
looked away, unable to look into the
brown and white mottled kit's eyes.
"Oh Whitetstar, after my mother was
cruelly exiled, I had no choice. I even
considered stopping, and asking my
mother and Minnowkit if we could leave,
but no, you had to exile her. And so, in
Lilyfoot's name, I tore this clan apart
from the inside, killing off each cat
one by one while you all accused each
other" The murderer padded forward,
dropping a water vole in front of
her, "I killed Firefeather with a water
vole and deathberries...how this all
started... After seeing what I had done
two those first two cats, I felt like I
couldn't do it again" the murderer's
expressionless gaze suddenly snapped
to one of pure hatred and anger, "But
then you exiled my mother! The second
cat to go! I went searching for her,
and she saw me...Lilyfoot got hit
on the old thunderpath by a monster,
all because you exiled her!" by now,
the kit was yowling loudly. With her
left paw, she hit the water vole so it
landed in front of Whitestar, "Eat it!
Or I'll make you" The kit sat, a shadowed
look in her eyes, as Whitestar looked at
the water vole. The poor she-cat
didn't have the energy to fight any
longer, and was to horrified by the
murderer's words that she took a
bite of the water vole without question.
The juices from the death berries
reached her tongue, and soon enough,
Whitestar collapsed.
The murderer simply sat and watched,
"Goodnight, Whitestar, and may you
tell the rest of Riverclan that Poppykit
has been their downfall" Poppykit
hissed, padding out of the leader's
den without another word. In the
middle of the camp stood Minnowkit,
shaking with fear, "Y-You! No, no
Poppykit, you wouldn't..." The kit
wailed, backing up as Poppykit
stepped forward, "They exiled our
mother, Minnowkit, she's dead because
of them! I would've stopped, I wanted
to stop...after Firefeather and Spotpaw
were killed, and Cloversky exiled.. but-"
Poppykit was cut off as Minnowkit
launched herself at her sister, and the two
kits, now the only members of Riverclan,
fought like enemies. Minnowkit was
quick, and managed to slash Poppykit's
ear, but the murderer had practice, and
pinned Minnowkit down, "Traitor! Do
you not care that our mother is dead!
I did this so we could start our own
clan! But no...you're a fox-hearted
coward like the rest of them!" Blinded
by fury, Poppykit raked her claws across
Minnowkit's neck. Crimson liquid
seeped out onto the ground.
Minnowkit was dead.
Panting, Poppykit stepped back,
her paws painted with red. Glancing
to the sky, a twisted smile appeared
on the kit's face, "Are you proud,
Lilyfoot?"
When Riverclan didn't attend the
next gathering, the deputies from
each clan agreed to go and investigate.
They arrived, only to find the camp
perfectly still and calm, and a small,
white and brown kit crouching
fearfully in the corner. The deputy
from Windclan approached the kit,
"Poppykit, is it? Where are Riverclan?"
The kit, eyes brimmed with tears,
let out a wail, "They left! I didn't want
to go, so I hid...they left me!"
Taking pity on the kit, Windclan
decided to take her in, and so,
the murderer, now called 'Poppypaw'
joined a new clan. The downfall
of Windclan began.
Tick tock, Riverclan, your time is up!
The murderer has won!
