While looking through a box a young goat wolf had found three pictures. In them he saw himself and a couple of his friends. His friends had seemed terrified while the hybrid himself appeared to be scaring them. He smiled at this remembering what had happened over those three days.

“Join me out in the woods for three days for a camping trip you will never forget. There’s nothing better than a group of friends hanging out together just relaxing and having a good time right? If you plan on attending be sure to bring anything that you may need to be comfortable this includes warm clothing since it’ll probably get cold at night. I mean our fur can’t keep us warm all the time am I right? And if you’re wondering if this is trip is gonna end up being some kind of prank or scare, don’t worry about it. I don’t plan on doing anything other than just relaxing with you guys and just telling some stories around a campfire or going for a night hike.
Trust me,
Drax
P.S. Don’t bring your phone with you either. It’ll ruin the true camping experience.”
Drax looked over at the innocent looking text. For at least three weeks the young hybrid had been planning this trip. And while everything seemed like a normal trip out into the woods, he had actually come up with a slightly complex plan to scare all of his friends that decided to come with him. If anything though scaring them would be easy, actually managing to convince his friends to go with him would be another story. He did his best to make the text seem as innocent and convincing as possible, but he knew that a couple of them would be skeptical. At this point he was known for scaring the living day lights out of all of them. There were certain points where Drax would wonder why the others still called him his friend after all that he’s put them to.
Pushing his thought off to the side he sent the text with high hopes that at least two or three of his friends would decide to come.
“Do you actually promise that you won’t try to scare us?”
“Drax, ur practically my bro, but uh, i don’t trust you when u say that u don’t plan on scaring us.”
“Don’t think my mom will let me go. Besides I have homework.”
“Not wanting us to bring our phones sounds a little shady dude…”
These were the responses that he got from some of his friends. However, he wasn’t going to let weeks of planning go to waste. He was aiming for this scare to go down in the history books, or you know at least be talked about around the school or something.
“Listen guys. I know that I’ve spooked all of you in the past, but let’s be real here. I don’t have to be scary all the time. Besides when was the last time that all of us hung out together and had a good time huh?”
In all honesty, Drax himself couldn’t even remember when that sorta thing happened. Most of the friends that he made were because of him scaring them, and then a little while later they had laughed it off and decided that he was probably really cool.
“Drax is right. All of us haven’t really hung out together before. And even when we did do little get togethers it was only a few of us. Maybe we should all go. Besides if he’s saying that he won’t scare us… Maybe he’s actually telling the truth… I say we give this little camping adventure and Drax a chance.”
This text had come from one of his closest friends, Calvin. He knew that he would be able to count on him to convince the others if his message couldn’t. This was cause Calvin was sort of the youngest in their group, but at the same time none of the others ever liked disappointing him.
“Well i guess if Calvin says its fine…”
“Mmm… i still don’t rlly trust him but i guess ill come to”
“You know what, I’ll try asking my mom if I could go. My homework could wait anyways :3”
“Does nobody find it suspicious that he doesn’t want us to bring our phones tho?!?!?!”
Drax smiled, looks like his plan might actually work. He then responded with;
“Then it’s settled. We’ll meet at the campsite around 8:30. We can figure out what we’ll do there later. Oh and uh like I said in my first message, don’t bring your phones with you. Just the stuff that you’ll actually need for camping and stuff.”
With that he put away his phone and started getting all of his stuff together. He couldn’t believe that he had actually managed to get all of them to come. Well thanks to Calvin that is. Either way he made sure to gather up all of his stuff that he would need for his scare.

Drax had actually arrived at the campsite at least three hours before any of his other friends did. This was so that he could set up all of his stuff that he needed. Since he had this plan all figured out for so long he already knew what he needed to do. His three part plan would take place over the course of the trip, with the third night being the most intense of them all. But before he could get to part three had had to worry about the first two parts. Starting off with night one.
Night ones scare was a very easy going one. When everyone would arrive he would be hiding, or at least come off as the last one to get there. Showing up late being something terrifying? Oh no, that’s actually what his friends would expect from him since he was also known for never showing up on time for anything. HIs plan was actually to surround most of the area near the campsite with giant spider webs. Then using a little bit of his so called “skills” he would try and create a giant spider that would be resting where they were supposed to be staying. This was partially the reason why he had shown up so early because pulling off a stunt like this would take a lot of time.

After what felt like way more than three hours of preparation Drax had finished covering the surrounding area with spider webs and even finished constructing the giant spider. In broad daylight it wouldn’t look as convincing since it was really just a bunch of sticks and plants tied together. That was why he asked them to show up around night so that way the silhouette in general would look a little more convincing.
To add a little bit more “flair” he had taken out one of the shirts that he no longer wore and tore it up a bit and placed some of the pieces of it in one of the webs. He was hoping that maybe he could scare a few of his friends into thinking that the giant arachnid had eaten him or something. He snickered to himself, thinking at what everyone's reaction would be like. After a little while he had decided to hide and wait around for his friends to show up. It was only a matter of time now.

“Why did Drax pick this spider infested place to camp?” Said a rather monotone voice.
“Oh come on Trey, I’m sure that this isn’t actually where we’re camping. And besides if anything this is just Drax attempting to scare us or something... “ This came from a feminine voice.
“Guys, could you stop arguing. I mean for the trip here all you were doing was just saying that this was all another scare prank… And last I checked I’m pretty sure we agreed on trusting Drax.” This came from someone who sounded almost like a child.
“Right sorry Calvin.” Trey apologized.
“Yeah sorry…” Said the female voice. “It kinda sucks that Alan and Keith couldn’t come.”
“Well Alan did say that his mom wouldn’t let him. And Keith just doesn’t like Drax… In all honesty I’m surprised that you decided to show up Avis. I thought for sure that you would’ve stayed home or something.” The child-like voice had said in an almost cheerful tone.
“Yeah… Calvin is right. I was also expecting you to stay home and be like Alan saying that you had homework or something to do.” Trey said.
“Oh shut up you two… I’ll have you know that I actually live for these-” Avis had stopped when she had seen the large shadow that was sitting where the supposed campsite was supposed to be.
“What the heck is that?” Avis said almost whispering almost hoping that whatever it was couldn’t hear her.
“How should I know… I mean I don’t really go camping so I don’t know what’s out here.” Trey had said. A statement like this was ironic considering the fact that Trey was actually a badger and everyone had actually assumed that he enjoyed outdoor activities like this.
“You should go check it out Avis…” Calvin said to the grey rabbit.
“Are you kidding me? Whatever that thing is will probably try eating me or something. Trey why don’t you go?” Avis said, this time almost whisper shouting.
At this point Trey and Avis had started arguing with each other causing Drax to wake up after he had fallen asleep waiting for his friends to show up. Taking notice of this he picked up to ropes that he had tied to the fake spider that would cause it to move. The second the fake spider had started moving two screams had arose from the site.
Within seconds the group had taken off running. Trey had actually thrown Calvin, who was a small Chinese water deer, and was no running away with Avis from the large spider. In their panic they had run right by Drax and if anything had almost stepped on him since had fallen over and was trying to muffle his laughter.

After a few minutes of running the group had come to a stop at a different camping spot.
“Oh man… I’m pretty sure that thing was looking right at us…”Trey said catching his breath still holding onto Calvin.
“Yeah… Do you think Drax managed to avoid that thing. Whatever it was?” Avis asked.
“I’m almost certain he did… And there are a few things I’d like to tell you guys.” This came from Calvin.
“Oh yeah… What is it?” Trey asked.
“Well first… Could you put me down?” With that the badger had dropped the small deer and apologized for carrying him like that. “Thanks… Second, it’s obvious that was just Drax trying to scare you guys with a giant spider.”
The two had looked confused for moment upon hearing this.
“In your moment of panic when it came to you trying to escape you had completely jumped over him while he was on the ground laughing. I only managed to see him since you had tossed me over your shoulder.”
Trey and Avis’ confusion quickly turned into anger. They couldn’t believe that they had fallen for something as dumb as a fake spider. They even knew that Drax was lying to them from the start and yet they trusted him.
Before either one of them got to say something that they probably shouldn’t Drax had come out from a path that seemed to be different from the way the group had come from wearing his torn shirt.
“Hey guys… I heard screaming and when I went to go investigate where it came from there was this giant spider and I like booked it out of there. It actually managed to snag me at one point and tear my shirt, but luckily it got away. So I guess we’ll have to be camping in this spot now huh?”
Trey and Avis looked at each other wondering whether or not they should pound him into the dirt or just let him be. Before they even got to say anything Calvin had spoken up.
“Yeah actually we had also seen the giant spider. That’s why you heard the screaming. Trey and Avis got really scared and booked it out of there. Funniest thing is that Trey had actually picked me up and was running with me on his shoulder when he saw that thing try and make a move at us.”
Upon hearing this Drax had felt accomplished. At least phase one of his plan was complete. Phase two would be something a little bit more calm.

After resting up for the night and then walking around the woods for a little bit during the day the four friends had returned to their campsite. At this point the sun was starting to set so Trey had started a fire for them to sit around. At this point both Avis and Trey had completely forgot about the previous night's incident and were actually enjoying themselves. That was until Drax decided to stand up on top of a log and proudly announce that he would be telling a horror story.
Calvin had actually seemed slightly excited while the other two were a bit skeptical. They had remembered what Drax was really like and they had wondered what he was actually planning. It surely couldn’t just be a random horror story right? They didn’t really care though, it didn’t really seemed like he could’ve done anything so they decided to listen to what he had come up with.
“Now I want you to know that the story that I’m about to tell you is one hundered percent true. And if you don’t believe me then… That’s on you. If anything though you should treat this story as a warning. Now then I’m gonna tell you the story of the hidden beast.” Drax said doing his best to make his voice sound eerie.
“The hidden beast? Wow Drax, that sounds really scary.” Trey said sounding unimpressed.
“Oh come on Trey, don’t judge his story before he’s even told it.” Calvin said.
“Fine then… Go on Drax tell us your true story on this so called hidden beast or whatever.”
“Gladly… Now it all starts one night when I’m home alone and I was woken up by the sound of something breaking. Whatever had caused that noise had really messed with me, so I knew there was no way I was gonna be getting back to sleep. I mean come on it could’ve been easy right? I just close my eyes and just think about nothing and just sleep. Well at this point it would’ve been impossible for me to think of nothing now that there was the chance of some strange creature that could be in my house or something so I decided to get up and investigate.
I had went downstairs and into the kitchen because that’s where I had assumed that the noise was coming from,” at this point Drax had hopped off the log and started walking around as if attempting to recreate what had supposedly happened, “I had tried turning on the lights, but that didn’t work cause the power had gone out.”
“How convenient…” Avis whispered to Trey which had received a small laugh in response which was quickly shushed by Calvin who seemed far too invested in this story by now.
Drax continued,”I realized that I would need to find a flashlight or something. And lucky for me I had remembered where my parents would typically keep it. In addition to that it wasn’t pitch black or anything in the kitchen since it was a clear night and there was a full moon which would be providing more than enough light for me to see. So I had walked over to one of the drawers and taken out my trust flashlight.” With that he had pulled out a large red flashlight that if anything would probably hurt someone if they were to get hit with it.
“I turned it on and looked around the room. It didn’t seem like any damage was done in there so I had left still looking for the source of whatever had made the noise. I walked over to the living room and while I was there something caught my eye.”
At this point, Calvin had seemed terrified and was clinging onto Trey’s arm. Since he was younger than him, Trey didn’t seem to mind. Calvin was like everyone’s younger brother in the group so no matter what they did their best to be nice to him.
“What was it?” The young deer had asked nervously.
Drax smiled before he proceeded. “Broken glass. My first thought was maybe that someone had thrown a rock or something through the window, but when I looked around there was nothing there. That meant that something probably threw itself at the window in an attempt to get in. And from the looks of things whatever it was had succeeded. I then left the room telling myself that I should clean up the glass when there wasn’t a mysterious creature in my house. I then went back upstairs.”
Avis took notice that at this point Calvin seemed a little too terrified from this story and decided that she should speak up about it.
“Hey uh Drax?” She started.
“What is it?”
“Do you think that this story could be saved for another day or something… I mean Calvin seems scared and I mean I’m kinda tired…” She said.
“I-I’m not scared.” Calvin stuttered. “Go on with the story Drax.”
“Very well then… Where was I? Oh right, I went back upstairs thinking to myself that maybe I’m just being ridiculous. I mean there was no way something would just throw itself into my house right. That very thought had actually lingered in my mind until I had completely pushed it away.
Upon entering my room I had sat down at my desk. The thought of a strange creature lurking somewhere within my home had crept back into my mind. I kept reassuring myself that there was nothing there, and then I heard something.” Drax stopped presumably to be dramatic. But if anything he was just prepping his next scare. What the others didn’t know is that he had set up another puppet behind where they were sitting that he would trigger by wrapping his foot around another rope and pulling.
“W-what did you hear Drax?” Calvin said still clinging onto Trey.
“There was a loud thump. I shone my light over in the direction that I had heard it come from. My closet. I slowly crept towards the door.” At this point he had wrapped his foot around the rope and was now slowly bringing the puppet up as he crept towards his friends. “I had opened my door and then there it was.”
Drax then let out a fake, but rather convincing, scream when the puppet had been completely pulled up. The others turned around and upon seeing the strange looking puppet had fallen back in surprise and in Calvin’s case terror.
Drax’s screams eventually turned into laughter.
“You guys actually fell for it!” He had said on his back still laughing.
“Very funny Drax. But anybody could have seen that little scare of your coming from a mile away.” Avis had said.
“I didn’t…”Calvin had said from behind Trey and asked. “That thing isn’t real right, and neither is your story is it?”
“Well that thing is actually a puppet, but the story itself is actually true.” Drax said getting up smiling.
“Oh come on Drax, stop trying to scare him. That story isn’t true.” Trey had said while glaring at the hybrid.
“Fine then don’t believe me, but be warned,” He said while looking at the small deer,”The hidden beast does exist and is constantly lurking. You never know when you may find him…”
Trey rolled his eyes and then proceeded to walk away to his tent with Calvin trailing behind him. Avis went to her own tent soon after leaving Drax with nothing but an odd puppet and the fire to keep them company. He slowly walked over to it and opened it up. He had managed to slip a camera into the thing that was set to take a picture when it was completely pulled up.
“This one's a keeper.” He said to himself and placed it in a small folder with another image that seemed to be taken around the same time as the spider incident. He only had one more phase to go through.

The next day nobody had really spoken a word. Calvin had quickly gotten over his scare from the previous night and quickly forgave Drax, but just like the others he didn’t say anything.
“So what’s today’s little prank gonna be huh Drax?” Avis asked, clearly fed up with all of his pranks.
“I don’t have a plan actually… I mean it’s our last day out here so why not let this one be peaceful?” He had responded.
“Well gee, I dunno. Maybe cause yesterday also seemed pretty peaceful and then you decided to scare Cal?” Trey had said with a growl.
“And I’m sorry about it. I honestly didn’t think that he’s get that scared over it… But no more scary stories. Just a nice long relaxing hike.” Drax had said clearly trying to sound like he meant no harm to anyone.
This was obviously a lie. Since today was their final day, they decided that his final scare would involve him going out with a bang. And by a bang he meant that he would do a classic scare that would involve him sneaking up on all of them and then yelling as loud as possible behind them when they least expected it. Of course though something like this does seem a little too easy and simple for him, so he decided that he would “spice” things up a bit. It would take quite a bit of time though.

The four friends had actually hiked for most of the day, and by the end of it they were all exhausted. At this point Trey and Avis knew that Drax wouldn’t have nearly enough energy to try anything so they knew that they would be fine, but they thought wrong. If anything Drax had plenty of energy especially since he was already putting his final scare into place, he just needed to set up his camera one last time.

It took them a while to realize that Drax was missing and once they did all three of them were on high alert.
“Alright where did that good for nothing goat wolf scamper off to now?” Avis had said.
“Probably off to set up another prank or something. But I say that we don’t do anything and just rest. What do you say Calvin?” Trey had asked.
The young deer had looked around the area showing slight concern that they were unable to figure out where Drax might be hiding.
“I guess so… Besides if anything maybe he just decided to keep walking around for a little bit. I think that we should look for him though. I mean who knows what could happen to him…”
Trey and Avis had let out a sigh. In all honesty they were hoping that they wouldn’t have to look for him and that maybe they would be able to relax today. But because of Calvin’s concern that kinda thing wasn’t going to happen.
“Fine… Where do you suggest we look then?” Trey had asked picking up a backpack that he had brought with him that had a couple of supplies still left in it.
“Hmm… Well what about that creek that we hiked past yesterday? I mean Drax did seem to be interested in it to the point where he nearly walked into a tree.” Calvin had said smiling remembering what had happened to his friend. It was funny because despite everything that Drax had put them through Calvin still enjoyed hanging out with him.
He was probably interested in that place because that would be the final place for him to scare us or something. That’s what Trey and Avis had thought to themselves, but because of Calvin’s concern they decided to head down the same path that had led them to that location the other day.
What they were slightly aware of though was the risk of being scared by Drax again. However they were all willing to take that risk
