@Εschaton Thank you for the advice! I think that's basically what I'm going to try with Neo and my new kitten.
I'll have him in my room 24/7 for the first week or so. I'll do a lot of scent-swapping with toys and bedding.
Then, I'll start to feed them on either side of my bedroom door and see how they react. I'll eventually let them into each other's spaces without each other present to let them explore their scents.
Then if that all seems to go well, I'll introduce them through my dog's big crate.
Hopefully it all goes smoothly!



Also! Does anyone have any advice about how to keep cats away from cords/cables? My bedroom is really the only space where I can keep my kitten for the first week+ and I was able to kitten proof it for the most part, aside from the cables and cords. I have a lot of them (gaming consoles, tv, satellite, charging cables, etc.) but I have no way of tucking them away.
Is there anything that I could spray on them as a deterrent to keep him from chewing on them? Or perhaps a sort of tape or something that might work?
Does anyone have an experience in keeping cats away from cords?

You can also get some bitter apple spray and use it on the wires. It would make them bitter so that your kitten wouldn't want to chew on them.

I'd also make sure you have plenty of things that he is allowed to play with! Whenever you see him going after the cords, redirect him with something he is allowed to have instead!

On a more positive note, your cat is adorable. I love his cream color and that little tongue is too cute!

Lemon juice would only work when it's wet, since once it dries the flavor goes away. Bitter apple spray, the flavor stays where you spray it after the liquid dries.

This is my other cat, Joey. I believe he is some what a bengal mix. We adopted him about a few months ago and has been doing well!


He always sleeps like that, with arms in the air, stuff like that. (Sorry if its hard to see, if the image doesnt work, let me know.) What would it mean if he sleeps like that? Its a little funny and I havent had one cat who did that xD.

Thankfully, no! When I had to use it for my ferrets, it dried into like a powdery texture. The good thing is it shouldn't take too long for the kitten to figure out that he's not supposed to chew on the wires.

Ru, you can also try putting aluminum foil down around the wires. Cats don't like walking on it, so it would keep him away from them in the first place!

Hello all! I am new to this thread. OuO Here is my 3.5 month old lynx point Siamese kitten, Angelo. We adopted him from the shelter when he was just 12 weeks old. He is a very smart boy who loves to play with his feather toy, talk to people, and run outdoors at every opportunity. He is also a teensy bit cross-eyed as you can see from the picture, but I think it just makes him cuter.
