They make perfect sense and are written in very good english if I
may say it myself.

No need to get rude. This is a debate, not an argument.

I'm not asking for your reasons as to why the items shouldn't be added - I'm asking why you as a person are against it. In what way does this affect you negatively that makes you argue against it?

And I'm against adding the items to the list due to the things I've already written
about. It doesn't affect me as a person negatively, but it will affect other people, for
reasons I've already explained.

This is not a list for me as a person, this is a list for everyone who is clueless or in
need of some value ideas, and can't get a decent answer in the Fair Trade Thread.

Adding the items to the list will have a negative impact in the ways I described,
on a lot of people.
Putting the items low on the list just because a large percentage of the people
on the site don't want the items isn't right - they are rare after all.
Putting them high on the list isn't right either.

This is why a specific item list, in the Items thread, where actual item collectors go,
makes more sense. Because there people who actually WANT the items can check
on their value, because those people would visit that list.

im not really in this conversation but i have been reading all the comments,
and i agree that items shouldnt be added to the list. this is infact a guide for pets
not for items.

People already do that with pets, though.

I suppose an item list might work, but there would still be conflicts... The item list would be based solely on the opinions of item collectors, so the items would end up priced higher then where demand puts them.

There is already confusion when dealing with the list as it is. The zebras being so high means people over-value them and demand more, etc. etc. Adding items in would cause mass chaos. x3 Making an item list would be better. You could include like the angel wings, discontinued store items, etc.

Yes, this, what Komi is saying.

Overpircing and underpricing would happen due to the listing of items.
And general chaos and agitation due to some people thinking their items
are worth tons in the eyes of everyone - when they aren't.

It isn't my personal preference that is talking here. I'm thinking about
all the people who will come in here, and start yelling about how this item
shouldn't be here and that items should be there.
We already got enough flack for the Unickorn earlier - people boycotted this list just because
their personal preference told them than the Uni should be below a BE galaxy.

And the zebras get a ton of crap throw their way too, and people here have to
explain over and over again why they are there.

Yea, I see your point. There's going to be complaining no matter what, though. Even if the items are put on a separate list, there'll still be complaining. I don't think its possible to have a rarity list without someone complaining about it.

This is very true, but at least on a specific items value thread someone
could actually give the complains a reply.

If someone told me that I should put the Chicken flag above a gearback instead
of above a blue sorbet, I'd have no idea if it was wrong or right - because
I don't trade for these items. I have no experience about their values.

People who have experience in trading pets tend to gather on this
thread, so really I think that most people here have no clue of what
item goes where. And we wouldn't be able to hold a discussion on it
either, nor defend their positions since a lot of us have no real clue and have
just been told to place the items here or there.

I'm sure there are some people here that know something about the rare items,
but I sure am not one, and I get the feeling there aren't enough item "gurus"
to have a real legit conversation on the rarities either : /

I'm sorry but if a item list is made can we please put it in the "how much is this item worth" thread so people can discuss items worth in its appropriate thread.
Besides there's no real way to tell what an items rarity is. Simply because items aren't given a rarity (everyone in the CS community more or less decides what they are valued at and even than its debatable what they worth).

If it bothers people so much to have a item list than go make a list of all the items and go ask item experts what they think there worth and value should be set at. Take it from there.

Most of these lists are only guidelines for rarity's. Not everyone will agree with them or follow them anyway (too many variables to accurately tell a pet rarity's for some peoples taste).

Wow, this thread grew a few pages. To put this argument to rest, no, items will not be added to the list any time soon. We have plenty of stuff to do already, plus having another list on the front page would be excessive. I think it would be best for an item rarity guide to exist as a seperate thread, that way the story behind some of the items and why they're so rare could be explained. We just don't have that kind of space here.

Now that's quite enough of that discussion, I think? XD I respect the opinions of the major contributors here, and I think the reasons that have been listed against the idea of adding items are sound.

I read through the past pages and did a search and I didn't find this anywhere (forgive me if it was already stated): Often, when I'm lurking around the fair trade thread, or trying to help out, or just sending out trades, I see that people look for rough estimates on values for pets. The rares list has always been handy in comparing the most valued CS pets to help with simple, basic, straightforward trades most of the time. It's when you introduce multiple pets into trades and start having wider gaps in pets and such where people get confused and unsure about rarities... so I was thinking, at least for the main pets in the rares list, what do you think (deja and all other experts working on this thread) about adding labels or such next to certain pets in the chart (maybe in a different color or something to flag the pet) to use as a reference for the values of pets? These pet values will change over the course of time, but until things get shifted around, possibly requiring editing, I feel like marking certain pets with labels such as which are worth around 1 august, or 2 augusts, or other ways that CSers value pets that are way up there. Just a thought, it would help people identify rough boundaries and such. Of course, they will also have to take into account the fact that some pets on the list next to each other are close together while others are farther apart, but that's a whole other issue in and of itself.

Apart from that, I've seen people ask somewhat often about what constitutes a common august, or terms such as that. Do you think it would help to add a snippet below the list of most-valued rares some basic terminology that would help clear out confusion for some people as well? It'd help people trying to use the list, as well as save the time of the helpers on the fair trade thread and all =p

Personally, I keep a word document that has the rares list, and next to each pet I have listings of pet combinations and rough values in augusts and such of what those pets are worth, based on what I've noticed lately in the fair trades, and using the search function to look for recent results, as well as expert opinions of some of you =p. It's quite handy if I ever need to look at it to do some checks or whatnot to help with fairness of a trade and all. Of course, there are just a multitude of combinations possible for each pet, but what about the idea of possibly implementing something like to the rares list? I'm not sure if it wouldn't be too helpful due to cluttering of space or anything, but if added, it would be quite helpful for a wider variety of trades. Of course, with demand changing and values changing here and there as well, it might need to be updated a bit =/, but it's just a suggestion / idea.

*Phew*... I got all that out . I'm looking forward to seeing the progress and work on the Rares List Guide deja and Diabolic and Komi and everyone =), I'm sure you'll all do an excellent job of making it more helpful and all ^^. (Love the ideas with adding certain pets like the dragon pps and wolf pps, other pps's =p, maybe dragons =o, etc.)
