Ever since the furry race began, there was a distinct divide between them, Furries with powers- and those without. A Furries' power varies through their bloodline, and can vary from water manipulation to healing- weak or strong.
As time passed, the divide between 'Mortals' and 'Mages' became stronger, plunging the world into war.
Usually, the Mages would have won easily- with such a varied amount of power comes a large advantage, yet the Mortals had been secretly developing power-neutralizing weapons, which would temporarily disable the Mages' powers.
Such a large- scale war led to nuclear weapons being developed and deployed to countries with a higher Mage rates, even if it killed Mortals in the process. This left only a few countries left, as the larger ones had gone all-out.
Technically, the Mages could have won due to the advantage, but they began secretly
creating destructive wepons
The mortals made a plan to nuke the countries with a higher Mage rate, even if it killed mortals in process
Leaving only a few small countries left, as the larger ones (USA, Russia) had gone all-out
Soon, Mortals and Mages decided to team up as most had barely anything left, and the remaining
presidents and governments were not planning to back down.
All that was left, in most cases, was destruction, only metal bombshelters and remains of houses
were left in the wastelands.
