it was a chilled night when firefeather felt a soft nudge on his side.
opening his hazel eyes, his vision was shrouded in the familiar
darkness that was known as night. "...yes?" the tabby asked, staring
up into the void.

there was an eerie pause.

"i've been seeing some rogues while out on patrols... would you join
me for a quick look around the area?" the cat said, feigning fear. "i
won't bother you again after." the cat added quickly. they sat,
awaiting the tom's reply. there was a hum of assent from firefeather
as he stood, while the nameless cat followed his example, before
leading him out to the edge of the territory, where a weak stream
flowed from the clan's river. littered along the gravel banks were
various weeds, none more important than the other, yet still
fighting among each other for dominance. the nameless cat
smirked at this thought. "I last saw them around here..." they
muttered, as they slowly began creeping towards the tabby, who
was glancing around calmly, scenting the air.

"I don't sm—" the tom was cut off by swift claws scraping along his
skin. hissing in pain, firefeather turned wildly, turning in circles as
he searched for his attacker. In the moonlight, he saw a faint
silhouette creeping towards him, before pausing and looking straight
at the warrior, muttering something under their breath before
firefeather felt a sharp pain in his neck, his legs gave out on him,
gasping for air before the night felt silent. a raven could be heard
calling from it's roost, and the now bloodied cat calmly licked
themselves clean before padding back to camp, a look of
satisfaction on their face.

it was a chilled night when firefeather was murdered.

"Mountainkit! Mountainkit, wake up!" Primrosekit hissed quietly to her den mate. "Come on, Lillyfot and Poppywhisker aren't watching, we can go explore the camp!" She added, hoping this would get the other cat exited. Primrosekit joked, "Hurry up, you lazy badger!"

Shinepaw yawned. It was a lovely day, with the fresh scent of fish and leaves in the air, and... Blood? She sprang up to her paws and raced out of the apprentices' den. In the center of the camp was Firefeather's body. "N-no..." Shinepaw's small body shook. "No, not Firefeather!" she meowed in despair. She sniffed Firefeather's fur. It smelled of blood, obviously, but... There was another scent. Was that another Thunderclan cat?

Salmonstrike

The pale tabby stretched her long limbs. and flicked her ear. The sun shimmered from outside of the den, calling her out of her slumber. She opened her jaws in a loud yawn. "Morning Forest," she murmured with a flick of her tail. "No, Not Firefeather!" Salmonstrike whipped around at Shinepaw's yowl and shot out of the warrior's den, almost tripping over dangling tails. "StarClan, n-no..." Firefeather's body lay limp in the ground, motionless. "What-what happen?" she stuttered pressing her noise into Firefeather's fur. Cold. "Who could have done this?"

Cedarwood woke up to see Shinepaw and Salmstrike racing out of their dens. Her ears twitched curiously, stepping outside to follow them to see what was happening. Once she came there... what she saw wasn't a friendly sight. Trembling... She realized it was Firefeather's body, lifeless. "Salmonstrike... Shinepaw... what happened?" She demanded.
