definitely second the brumby/general wild pony breeds, but i'd also like to see some arabian blood! a few drafts would be nice too, of course, but i understand that it's hard to include too many breeds at once.

Yeah, Brumbies and Draft horses are my favs. I love them soo much. Arabians are beautiful, they should be added too. Maybe a Friesian or Andalusian?
Hi There! I'm Chico_Mistpool, otherwise known as Mist! I am a horse lover through and through. I currently have two species I am working on for adopts, Sea Kings and Hippocampi of the Pacific Sea. The links should be to the right of this. I love speaking to new people so feel free to PM me. I'm not really into the pets side of things anymore, but I still trade and collect them so just trade away! On the right, I will be linking important links to me and some advertising. Thanks for reading!

Yeah, Maybe a dressage or driving event. That is what some of them are good at.
I know that Shire and Clydesdales are more of working farm horses, but when you cross them with a thoroughbred, they can make great jumpers. (One of the first horses I ever rode was a Clydesdale X Something.

perhaps a world horses event could be good? it could throw a lot of new breeds into the game while giving people a chance to suggest all of their favorite breeds without having to worry about overloading the game. for the baroque horses, though, an event concerning the spanish riding school could be cool, though frankly you could always just intersperse a few at a time between adopts and nobody would know the difference.
perhaps setting up a 'queue' of sorts could help you know what horses people were wanting? like of course you could change it if you wanted, but maybe just creating for yourself a list of horses to create could make it a little easier to organize so you don't end up throwing out a bunch of the same breed all at once

I actually agree. Making a list will help with the horses. It will also help with some people who want their own so they know when horses are coming.

Those both sound like excellent ideas! ^^ I love the world horses event! I think that would be so much fun -- I'll do a breed from (most of) the prominent horse countries and make a mare and a stallion for each, and then if they're popular, I'll know to make more of that breed c: I love it!
The queue also sounds like a fantastic idea! I think I'd probably use it for rare breeds and not all, because I don't like being locked into a schedule when it comes to making these guys, but for the ones involving events or rarer breeds that are requested and stuff like that, I could very easily make a list for the order of the horses I plan on making c: Great ideas!

All right! Here's what I'm thinking for the Around the World Event:
Countries:
Canada
U.S.
First Nations
Mexico
Argentina
Iceland
Portugal
Spain
France
England
Scotland
Ireland
Germany
Norway
Turkmenistan
Arabian Peninsula
North Africa
India
Australia
Now, not all of these are countries; some are regions, as the development of recognizable horse breeds there functioned more as a cultural endeavor and less as a governmental undertaking. If you would like to see any removed or added, just let me know; not all will be added, particularly if they are not universally recognized and used actively for sport or work. The following breeds are the ones being considered by order of country; please let me know your opinions on which should be included in the sim and whether you would prefer a different breed for a particular country! Only one breed from each country will be made as part of this event.
Canadian Horse
American Cream Draft
Nokota
Azteca
Criollo
Icelandic Horse
Lusitano
Andalusian
Percheron
Shire
Clydesdale
Irish Draught
Oldenburg
Norwegian Fjord
Akhal-Teke
Arabian
Barb
Marwari
Brumby
If any of these horses seem like they'd be in low demand or unpopular, please speak up! I want this event to be a success while paying homage to many of the great horse countries ^^ Thoughts?
Additionally, I'm considering getting rid of RVEC's halter/showmanship and replacing them with futurities, which would only be open to horses aged 1-3. Reason being... halter/showmanship is incredibly difficult to judge, and I'm not entirely sure how to judge it so that it is fair and accurate; it may be something that ought to be left up to breed organizations so that an ideal type can be bred for. What do you guys think? This version of halter/showmanship will still be judged, but I may not repeat it next time as an overall thing because it's so difficult to have a definitive standard for all horses...

first off, i'd just like to ask whether you'd consider the brumbies and nokotas from the world horses event to be feral - it's your opinion. both breeds are demarcated in the RVFHA as feral (though nokotas must be explicitly marked as feral), so if you'd consider them domesticated then i could just simply denote that the world horses are not eligible for registration. all of the breeds look absolutely fantastic though - all very desirable breeds!
if you'd like, i could share the algorithm i've come up with for judging halter/showmanship - it's a tad complex, but i shouldn't think it'd be overwhelmingly difficult. in addition, there is no 'standard' in the algorithm - simply a judgement of how one horse looks in comparison to another. it seems like a discipline that's gained a lot of ground, i'd hate to see it go. ultimately, it's your decision, though.
