Mara was now embarresed, it wasnt important and she knew it, so she shouldnt have been thinking about it. "Maybe. But its not important." she was trying to convince herself of that...and it wasnt working. Still she pushed it out of her mind.

“You would be expecting your gift, then” Riley frowned. He had forgotten, after all! But after only a moment, he reached into the pocket of his tunic. His large, strong hand emerged, concealing something hidden in his palm.

Mara was excited. It had been along time since she had gotten a gift. But she knew Riley had forgotten and it still made her smile.
