I really want to get a circus roleplay going, and am thinking of setting it up tonight. However, while it would be semi-lit, my posts wouldn't be over 300 words on average. Would anyone join even if the host was completly useless?

I've had this idea for a RP for a while, and I was wondering if anybody would be interested in a RP like this? owo

The plot would go a little something like this:

This takes place in the future of the United States. It is referred to as the "Silver Era" by most.

You would be an agent in one of the government's many top secret plans. The scientists there are developing and testing out killer creatures known as "experiment 13790z", but it is more commonly called "experiment 13z" for short. These monsters are unlike nothing the world has ever seen before with it's long serpentine like body and very fox-like features. It had a long flowing mane and a unicorn's horn placed on the center of its forehead. One should not be deceived by its beauty though, for these animals are bloodthirsty killers. They will stab victims mercilessly with their deadly horns and rip them apart with those super sharp teeth. Their hooves are as tough as diamonds and they have strong physic abilities, being able to use telekinesis and hurt others with merely a thought. But these god forsaken creatures have a tendency to go absolutely insane, and there is only one thing that can prevent such a catastrophe; dreams. That's where you would come in. You would be a highly trained individual who has a very special and dangerous job; gather dreams for these monsters. Some of those agents aren't even human, being of a different race such as the elves and the fairies with much more heightened senses. The government issues out several extremely advanced gadgets that help in dream collecting, which usually makes the process very quick. But something goes wrong this time. The agents accidentally stumble into the limbo zone and all the technology goes haywire and stops working and all communication with the scientists is cut off. Once this happens, the agents get stuck in limbo, a place where horrible things spawn. Those things are called "Limbo Creatures" as nobody is even sure as to what they are. They are dark and shadowy creatures that normally take up the shape of typical Earth animals. Their true form is unknown, but they are definitely creepy and vicious animals who thirst for you blood. They can talk verbally, but most choose to talk with thoughts to mess with the victim's mind. There is a legend, from before the Silver Era, from a time called the "Smoke Era", in which there was a pair of twin gods known as the Dream Keepers. They took up the form of young and colorful dragons and their names were Zirxyn and Nyxriz. They were complete opposites, one being the keeper of dreams while the other was keeper of nightmares. It was said that if prove yourself strong and worthy by slaying two limbo creatures and leaving the dead bodies as an offering at both gates of the Dream Realm, the Dream Keepers will set you free from their trap know as limbo. You, the agents, must find a way to please the gods and escape from limbo while avoiding those sickly Limbo Creatures as much as possible. Some may be friendly and help you along they way, but it wouldn't be very wise to be too trusting. Will you be able to prove you worth to the gods, or will you die like the rest that have tried before you?

A blissful day raining down upon. A golden light seeping into the drizzling rain. Drops of dew sliding off those waxy leaves and slipping onto the warm earth. All part of the definition of a lovely spring morning. I slid out of my hollow in the old birch tree that I loved dearly. My son followed quickly after me. His wide golden eyes bulged. It was the first time he'd witnessed the land. And what better time then a warm spring morning after it has rained to show this to him? Akema tugged on my tail, which wavered about like a tassle, sliding over the branch we perched on. "Mommy!" Akema whined, "I want to go down there." Insistantly, he pointed toward the ground. I chuckled, sliding him forward into my embrace. My cute face looked down to his much smaller and much more adorable face that shimmered in the rising golden sunlight. Our matching copper-red fur shone together. "Daddy will take you down there soon." I assured him. Oh how I couldn't wait for Zyndrr to come back. I missed him so, and it was our anniversary today. I cuddled my beloved Akema closer. "Soon, soon, the mocking bird sings. A song of dreams and a song of wins. A lovely noise, so witty and chiming, a grateful sound, the stars aligning. I wish for sun, the rain, the snow. Upon them all, the bird's world grows..." I sung my sweet song to Akema, the song that he loved so much. Soon soon, I told myself silently.

-insert raised hand here- That sounds amazing! I have always been mesmerized by limbo's etymology and not because of that fun party game either. That word and the plot itself is just brimming with potential and I would just love to participate in it. It would be rather surprising if it didn't perk a round of people's interest. But, of course, people have their tastes and I've got mine, but yes~
I would be greatly interested if I count as an anybody.

Zmija - it's funny you say that, because I just moved and stumbled across my old Gameboy Color, with the Pokemon Blue game. I've been playing it obsessively, and I would join your pokemon RP in a heart beat. xD

FFFF-I wish I could find my old Color. I used to play Yellow religiously. xD I'm kinda afraid to set it up though. Where the plot would start and how people would obtain pokemon and battle is catching me.. I might just trust people and hope they don't get all gobmobby on me. D:

Mmm, I can't wait to start! Although I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will recover from this particularly nasty bout of writer's block quickly. . .
I can't resist committing suicide by taking on three circus-based characters that are surprisingly perfect for this sort of roleplay.
Two of them have never been outside of my character draft journal, though. . . One of which may not be allowed.

Honestly, I don't really know what's the hype about Pokemon. I remember that I pretended to like it once in third grade because my crush did. . . But that's it. >.>/<.<[/endofspam]

Just wondering: do you think that an RP/D&D hybrid would work out here? I'm playing around with an idea where people would have their RP characters in a world fully created by me as Game Master (GM), so while the players would RP pretty much as normal, the world itself, places and objects within it, outside events and non-player characters would all be put in place by me for the players to interact with rather than created by the players themselves, as well as potential story lines, quests, etc. Sort of like those online adventure games where you have a character who can travel around and do stuff in a pre-made world, but in text form instead. It wouldn't be turn-based, combat-based or dice-based like D&D, and it wouldn't have a set progression of tasks or events that the players would have to stick to - they could spend the whole game trying to find the world's best hang-gliding site if they wanted to, as it's pretty much free-play.

The players wouldn't be able to make up places, people or things at all apart from their own characters - for example, if a character goes into a blacksmith's shop, the player would only be able to say, "<character> walks into the shop" without describing anything inside the shop. I'd then post with a description of what the character sees when he goes inside, and the player could use that information to decide what the character does next based on what they now know about what is in the shop. I've seen this kind of RP game go really well on other sites and would like to try hosting one, but those were sites where people were familiar with the D&D game style of the GM controlling the world and supplying storylines, so I'm not sure if it would work here where people are more used to coming up with their own as they go along.
