Oh yes.
Right now I'm in the library (our school had a two hour delay today and because I have seventh and eighth grade classes and the grades are working on different systems, I have no where else to go), and I'm getting ready to write up some stuff while the librarian gossips with one of our teachers.
:D
Chapter 2a
-------->Continuation
"-so while we won't be leaving forever, which would be stupid, we have to find somewhere else to go for now, just in case we were followed back home. We should hurry too; if Grasswhistle's group just came back, then our friends the adults may have already found us," Ice said, gesturing in the woods. What? Hide out in the woods? I feel so confused right now. It sort of makes sense, but things are going a bit fast and I don't know whether or not we should actually evac. Break just said they might come, and what if we move for nothing? Plus, I just got here. I don't want to leave again.
I hurried over and sat down with everyone else while Rose dished out orders.
"Dagger, get a sack and put all the preserved food in it. Coon, you go with him. Grasswhistle, Ice, pack up some sleeping bags and other necessities. Get Laurels to tell you what to choose. Jarrah, keep track of Break and Flyby. Badger will help me with anything else. Got it?" She glowered at all of us. We nodded and got up.
I carried Flyby with me. She was looking around with interest, enjoying the vantage point, pointing out things she didn't see from below.
"Birdie!" She said, pointing at a bird perched on the roof. It trilled in alarm and flew away. "Nasty!" She crooned, waving in the general direction of a pot full of Ice's cooking. I patted Flyby's hair absently and wandered inside to see where Break was. He was standing with Laurels, who was directing Grasswhistle and Ice on what to pickup and what to leave. Break seemed to have recovered from his fit and was watching everyone scurry around, confused and lost looking. Didn't he remember this was his idea?
Worrying about Break's overall mental health, I made my way over to him.
"Break, Rose asked you to stay with me for the rest of today," I said. Break looked up, uneasy.
"Why? Where are we going?" He asked nervously.
"We just need to go somewhere else for a little bit. Nothing huge," I said soothingly. If Break got too nervous or scared, he locked down and wouldn't move. I'm surprised he got out of the recent one so quickly.
He bit his lip. I noticed his eyes seemed clouded.
"But where? Why?" He asked again, obstinately. I grimaced.
"Just come with me. Please." I said, tugging at his hand. He stood still for a moment before walking with me outside. He flinched when he saw the firepit. There wasn't a fire right now, but you could still smell the smoke, and I knew that freaked him out. Smiling sympathetically, I went up to Rose, who seemed to be burying something.
((I can't type anymore and this part in the book is sorta hard to write and just screams "WRITERS BLOCK". But it had to be done, so I did what I could. Please don't spear me for the bad, minscule chunklet of words))
