Unfortunately it's been determined from data mining / looking at the coding of the game that shinies have not been implemented. The screenshots and videos you can see online have all been manipulated. You'll notice that none of them have any consistency. I've seen "shiny" screenshots with two golden stars beside the Pokemon name, or one red star beside the Pokemon, or no star at all, etc.
If shinies have been implemented, you would be hearing about them and seeing screens of them a lot more. Yes they are very rare, but with millions of people playing this game, plenty of legitimate posts will have popped up by now.

Sometimes it happens. It's pretty uncommon, though. And it's lead to some... strange things...

I was just curious, I didn't know they could spawn,
you don't have to be so rude about it..

Well yeah, I mean I did reply to their post and not yours, plus my post doesn't really even make sense in the context of trash bags post.
Out of all the pokemon I'm still missing, bulbasaur saddens me the most. It's my favorite, and I regret so much going for charmander. If I had known that they all were this rare, I would have gone for bulba, but I sort of assumed it would be easier to dind them all, and I wanted to get a head start @ getting a charizard :'D Well, at least pikachu is about as common as squirtle here.

Don't feel bad..
Usually I find my bulbasaurs in wet and muddy places.. (Even though my city is wet and muddy)
I guess it was a good idea for my to pick Bulbasaur as my starter.. (Not trying to brag..)
