"Oh!" Tyra squeaked. She spun around and saw a boy that looked kind of like her.
"Sorry. You scared me. Hi."'She said. She grabbed her bag and stuffed the note inside. She went to fling it over her shoulder but smacked her wing instead. She froze and made a hissing-like noise.
"Gotta be more careful with that." She reminded herself aloud.

Nick nodded "wings are hard to get used too," he commented. "I'm Nick," he smiled "what's your name?"

Tyra smiled.
"Im Tyra. Um, can you tell me where I am? Or how I could get home?" She asked, not sure she was aloud to go home.

Nicks eyes flashed with sympathy, "you can't go home, a short flights away is a crumbled down city me and a lot of other anthros are repairing it. A safe haven for Anthros. Humans cannot hurt us anymore here." he said in a grave and deep voice.

"Hurt us? Dad said on this letter he was forced to give me to the government. What're they doing?" She asked. It was a question she needed an answer to.

Nick sighed and dropped on the ground sitting down, "the government, they're using scientists and doing this sick experiment." he could feel the anger boiling up inside as he spoke, "they took us all from our familes, we did nothing wrong, and they still took us away. They did this to us!" he yelled the last part furiously, his fists clenched by his side in pure anger.

Tyra looked at her hand.
"At least we're still alive. They took Mama from us when I was only five. She never came home." She said solemnly.

Nick nodded and sighed as if letting the anger go, he stood up and spread his feathery eagle wings, "know how to fly yet? The city isn't far fom here." he said

"Um, no." Tyra said, spreading her wings out. She flailed them slightly. They were heavy.
"Out of all things, a bat. Why not something easier, like a falcon?" She said, trying to get her wings to flap.
