Does a geode count torwards birth stones? (Like pearls and such..) Probabaly though. Just throwing this out there. The ponies only have a pink (gem/geode/marble) on them. Now the ponies may change color or just be 'pink' themed. But maybe the theme of these ponies could be marbles. It seems like a good guess but I don't think it's marbles- that would be pretty cool though! (I might be wrong..) Maybe the theme is Crystals? *shrugs*
When you say they're not geodes what exactly are they not? If that makes sense.

I'm gonna guess gems in meteorites, since they're the only thing I can think of that isn't a geode and has gems embedded in stone.
