Gonna use this for temporary storage since my character storage is still a heavy work in progress- he's my newest viscet too, which means he's gonna be the last one I'll post there- kiddo got the short end of the stick sadly </3
Probably shouldn't say kiddo though, he's like 42 (the meaning of the universe hah, didn't even plan it out that way)
..gosh I am so tempted to make him inspired by Conan personality-wise, cause Conan really is funny- 'specially with jordan shalansky hah

Ben, on the surface level, is a terrible flirt. While he swears up and down that he's only attracted to females, he'll easily lead anyone on if given the chance. His natural charisma seems limitless, which would be a good thing if he could ever keep a stable relationship. He has... no shame. His partners really don't appreciate how often his eyes wander. "Romantic loyalty" is not in the name of his game.
But ah, despite his shortcomings, Ben isn't a bad guy. Quite the opposite, in fact. He's exceedingly jovial and comedic in his speech. As it seems, Ben's main goal is to get a laugh or smile out of someone. And whether he intends to or not, his presence and speech makes others gravitate towards him. His orator skills captivate his audience. Which is simply perfect for him, given how much he loves hearing himself talk. He's very full of himself.
And rightfully so, in all honesty. After a childhood of near-crippling stuttering and anxiety, he's confident of the skills he's had to nearly beat into himself and hone to a fine point over the years. As a historian as well, his speaking skills only makes it easier for him to make history actually interesting. While he seems to live and breathe history, at times even he admits that it's dry, and there's not much way to get around the fact. Why not make it interesting to hear? His students easily thank him for it. In all his 20 years of teaching, he tried to make history seem as attractive and quirky as mentally possible.
He's retired as a teacher now, but Ben currently works as a curator and occasional guide in a museum. And no, he assures you it's not nearly as boring as it sounds. Well, at least not to him. He's gearing for a higher position though. He's so close, and it definitely helps that everyone seems to love him and he's on the museum board and all. But, some do think he's better suited for a position closer to the people who keep the museum going. Which Ben understands, at least- the reason why he's so well-liked is because everyone knows him. He's aware that his job will only get lonelier, but Ben think's he'll manage.
Another thing about his obsession with history that makes Ben just a little queer is that he forms connections exceedingly well, and in turn makes his memory like a steel trap. Luckily for him, his constant immersion with history has only made his memory better over the years. And at 42, he thinks he's done pretty alright with himself so far.
