Heys guys, Ignis here...formerly Erratic. I haven't posted here in ages...but anyways I will get to the point. I am looking to make a vault suit/vault dweller cosplay. I am likely to get a tailor to do the suit and what not, but I'd like to try and make armor for it myself. At the moment, I have an old bicycle and its parts to use as well as potentially an old tire and if I am lucky some old license plates. I am likely to use the tire and license plates to make shoulder guards...and I have no idea what to use the bicycle parts for. I was just looking for extra input I suppose. I was thinking about using the spokes to put spikes on the tire maybe, and other than that I am clueless. So...what do you guys think?

I'm on track for con in october
My cosplays are Five (dark matter), Evie (Descendants) Ivy (DC superhero girls), and River Tam (firefly)
Five is done aside from wig styling and highlights
Ivy is done aside from some minor adjustments to the belt and flower clip headpiece thing
River Tam was already done, since I have similar stuff in my wardrobe already

I have the most to do on Evie, but can probably knock out the bulk of the sewing parts of the costume week.
Any idea how to do her tightsthough

Your cheapest option is probably trying to find tights that look similar. I'd try leg avenue or Hot Topic. I just typed "black tie dye tights" into Google and a bunch of very similar things popped up. You could also hand tie dye them but tie dye kits run about $30.

Finish a couple of accessories for Evie and Ivy (Headpieces, a belt and a purse)
Finish sewing the jacket, before adding paint and studs to it to finish it.

Ayyyyyyyy just got back from AWA Con and it was a blast. I hung out in the werewolf room most of the time I was there and it was litttt. On Thursday night and morning of the con I ended up spending nine hours last minute making this Eto cosplay for my friend from Tokyo Ghoul lmaoooo. I met this totally amazing steampunk Poison Ivy on Saturday though? She had like hundreds of jewels hidden all over her costume and everything was hand pieced together and the costume looked like it would've costed a good couple of hundred dollars if you bought it online. It was amazing.

So. I need advice. My friend and I are planning to go to Wellinggeddon next year as The Silence from Doctor Who. (Hopefully by the time it comes around I'll actually be up to that part! I'm a bit far behind. XD)
Anyway, any tips on making the head? My brother found a pepakura file, but it's really really reaaaaly complicated. He suggested moulding it out of clay, but that just sounds hard. Any ideas?

@Afon - I was at AWA as well! Most of the time I was in my Fire Emblem Fates costume with my group. It was a great con. I had so much fun 8'D

Omg you cosplayed Fire Emblem Fates?!?! Who did you cosplay? I cosplayed Nina for part of SDCC this summer.
