ALEC
"Good to know I have my own personal cleanup crew," Alec replied sarcastically, pushing on deeper into their chosen tunnel. It was much like all the other underground holes he'd seen in photographs and drawings- dark, empty, spotted with glowing lichens. Maybe there was a colorful rock once in a while, but the first stretch was nothing special. Of course, "nothing special" could also mean "safe for humans", so there was that...
Around five minutes (or half a mile, to use distance measurements) in, the tunnel branched off down three paths, none with many defining characteristics. He continued down the one on the left, noting a subtle change in the atmosphere: humidity went down three percent, and air temperature dropped by four degrees. Of course, that was to be expected, but not so suddenly. He backtracked a little to see if it was just a pocket of cold air, but no, it seemed like there was a defined point where the measurements got lower.
Huh, that's weird. "Minerva, you picked up on that too, right?" Alec's arm tapped his sound systems to try and reduce the static he was hearing, before he realized that it wasn't static.
...Running water?
