My two little kittens are tearing everything up, but I would never declaw a cat. Are there any gel things or something that will keep them from clawing?

You can always get their claws trimmed. If they're outdoor cats, you'll have to teach them not to, but if they're indoor, their claws can be filed to a soft point or trimmed down so they don't destroy things when they scratch. Trimming is a regular thing, however, so it's always best to teach them that if they claw, you won't cuddle or play with them. The way I taught my kitty not to scratch and use her claws is that I stopped playing when she bit and scratched, and when she kneaded her claws on someone's lap, I'd very gently squeeze or tap her paws to tell her to stop. I've never had a problem with cats that tear things up, but I do have friends who have. If you get them a scratching post and toys, you can teach them to put their claws in certain things instead of everything. Hope I could be of help.

First off, it's totally normal for a cat to want to scratch something, especially when it's a kitten. You could try getting them a scratching post or something, so that they can focus all of their scratching onto that instead?
If not, then you could trim their claws every once in a while.

Double sided tape can always keeps cats off of some place they shouldn't be, so I would try that as well as having a scratching post or cardboard for them, and reward them with treats when they scratch on that. Positive reinforcement is the best way to train a cat! But you could also trim their claws. c:

    -----

For almost a year I've had 2 cats with different energy levels due to their age difference, so they were constantly bickering because the younger one (Meiko) wanted to play while the older one (Marley) didn't. So we've been looking for another cat for a while. Eventually, we found the perfect 5 month old kitten and adopted him. Our new kitten, Nuka, hasn't been an issue whatsoever. But when he wrestles with Meiko for too long, Meiko will bite Nuka really hard and Nuka vocalizes his pain. They love playing, but Meiko can get really rough. Meiko also chews on his toys until they break. We got him checked out, and he doesn't have any health issues. They said his teeth look fine, too. He's one of the two strays I've had, and both of them have torn apart their toys like this. Could that be why he does it?

Meiko's really friendly and sweet towards the other cats most of the time, but he has a few problems. If Marley's lying on his back which he used to do constantly, Meiko will try to wrestle him. Marley hates it and doesn't lie on his back anymore. :c Marley also used to try to cuddle with Meiko, but Meiko will bite at his paws and tail. Meiko doesn't listen when the other cats want him to stop playing, so the other cat will get annoyed with him, which makes Meiko annoyed, then they fight. If Marley runs into his box he goes into for safety from the other cats, Meiko follows him right in and tries to wrestle. How do I get him to leave the other cats alone when they've had enough?

I think the most bothersome part of this, is that Marley's always been a very friendly cat who loved cuddling with every animal. But ever since we got Meiko, Marley's been more fearful that he will be randomly attacked by Meiko in an attempt to play wrestle. Marley used to love play wrestling, but he's getting older and his bones are cracking when he gets up, so he doesn't want anything to so with it. I'm also worried it's affecting Marley and Nuka's relationship. Marley doesn't seem to trust cats anymore, even though Nuka is very respectful towards him. But if Marley's lying on my lap and Nuka curls up on the foot rest, Marley jumps off and leaves. :c

Sorry that was so long! Also, these aren't huge problems. For the majority of the time, they're all relaxed and happy. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas!

My mom found a kitten on the road, it didn't have its eyes open yet and was crawling along on its belly, on the hot ground. She brought him home and now I'm taking care of him, he is growing up to fast. :)

So earlier this year we took on some foster cats/kittens and ended up keeping two kittens and the mama. All of the cats and kittens except for one are good with litter training. This one though will use the bathroom anywhere but, even with sitting him in the litter, and leaving him in the bathroom with litter, he just won't use it, we even changed the type of litter, I have never had to litter train a cat they always picked it up right away and I'm at a complete loss at what to do any advice?

I love cats! They are my favorite animal and always have been.
I have a cat named Charlie. He looks just like a siamese, but I'm sure he's not purebred. When we first got him, we were told he was a girl so we believed that for the first few weeks. Then we found out he was a boy! Good thing we named him Charlie, a name for both girls and boys.
