Glitch rolled his eyes eye.

Was it really too much to expect the three-legged female to behave herself? It's actually quite a surprise that Ulfric didn't snap her neck in two just for speaking out of turn, much less badmouthing him and questioning his decisions.
Boy, he must be in a really great mood. Maya probably had something to do with it.
He'd gathered Whistle up because he knew that as much as Ulfric disliked her; her street-smarts could prove very useful to their elite squad. Ha!
Who were they kidding? This was a suicide mission.

The only reason Glitch was even going along with it, was because Ulfric had asked him to. If not, he'd have high-tailed it out of this crazy city. It was really starting to go to the dogs. Just the other day another dog went mad, and the gang had to put the rabid thing down. They're probably all waiting for him to start spitting out white too; so they can justify his kind of crazy.
Too bad that it's all inside his head.

Even though everyone knows he's crazy, Glitch doesn't invite trouble; or give anyone the opportunity to take advantage of his weakness. He's sitting where he can keep his only eye on everyone, to the left of the entire group. Even the Tyrant himself, because Glitch knows not to underestimate the Gang leader any further than he could throw him.
That's not very far a distance.

It's been that way for a while though.
Glitch has been at Ulfric's left flank for almost two years, when the King of the City was just a bloodthirsty pup on the streets. He watched his reputation and his power grow, watched the Tyrant build an empire and a sphere of control. Gltich was still by his left side then, before his lovely mate filled the empty spot at his right. To his disbelief, even with the female in the picture, the flirting and the subtle brushes of Ulfric's short fur against his own didn't stop. Glitch never encouraged it, but then, he never tried to stop it either. Yeah, he's known that crazy pup for a while. Owes him more than he'll ever be able to repay too. Theirs has been a strange relationship built on debts and on mutual trust: I won't kill you, and you won't kill me. I owe you, and you owe me.
It's worked out great so far.

The Mutt Pitbull lifts a paw up in the air, the Cheshire grin on his face betraying his true feelings on this oh-so-serious meeting.
"Uh, yeah. I've got a question, Boss!" Glitch used the same, falsely cheery tone as the grumpy Great Dane. He was beyond amused. Hysterical. All of this was fun and games, the prospect of death hanging over their heads was only a rule to make the game more exciting; make it seem more real. Nothing was real to him anymore.
Death was nothing to be feared, not a harsh reality, but some far-off figment of imagination.
Glitch didn't believe in death.

With all the attention now focused on him, his lifted paw meets the ground once again. Followed by the rest of him, and a dull thud as Glitch's back connected with the ground like a dead weight. Missing an eye and on his belly, still no one dared attack one of the Gang's best fighters. That itself spoke volumes for the reputation Glitch himself had; but all his own respect went towards Ulfric. "How exactly are we planning out getting out of the city? Last time I looked, everything's turned topsy-turvy. Ha!" Oh, the irony of his words. Upside-down and waving his paws in the air, everything looked topsy-turvy. The sky was the ground, the ground was the sky, and Ulfric was standing on the ceiling.
"There are dogs crazier than me running around, and it's only getting worse. It's a madhouse, and they'll have us outnumbered, and cornered soon." With another ominous threat hanging in the air, it was time to act like the proper loyal bodyguard.

A huff, and Glitch was on his feet again, a smile on his face like nothing in the world was wrong. He shook off the dust clinging to his brown fur, and winked at Tonraq, the bristling Alaskan Malamute. Well. It was almost a wink.
Basically, he just shut the only eye he had left and opened it again, before stepping a bit closer to the dog he'd followed and defended for the better part of his life. "So? What's the big, simple plan Boss?" He teased, acknowledging the fellow Pitbull across Ulfric's broad chest.
Glitch was smart enough to know that she was an intelligent strategist, and that like her mate; Maya was not to be underestimated.

The small pit-bull female took a sit to see what her mate would have to say. Mostly knowing that the announcement may be about them leaving this ruined city to find a better place where to live, but you never know until what has to be done is made.

Before Ulfric began to talk she glanced carefully around at the dogs around her to see who actually came and who was actually going on this journey. So here are Whistle, Glitch, Zodiac, Tay, Benjy and Tonraq. Maya numbered the present dogs in her head and finally she came to a conclusion. It looked like the dogs leaving the city will be eight, only eight. And it surely wasn't a sure thing that every one of them will survive.

As the great dane spoke the cream pit-bull perked her ears, not only to hear Ulfric better, but to hear the other dogs as well. When the one eyed dog spoke she decided to respond him before anyone else could." Glitch. There may be crazy dogs, but as we all know there are maybe the best dogs. And everyone has to take care of themselves as best as they can, but that doesn't mean you can't count on the others."

Maya spoke after long minutes of listening of what others were asking, now standing on her legs and not in a sitting pose, her long tail waving calmly. That fact made the dog remember how she escaped without having a short tail.

They were just getting me ready for my next fight, but then a men spoke angrily." Why does this pit-bull have long tail? Cut it!" In the next moment another men returned with a box that I assume it had what was needed to cut my tail. They took me and pinned me on a cold table ready to do their job, but in the moment they were ready to cut the noise of police cars approached and they let go of me. In that moment I didn't need to think any longer so I stated running to a window, realizing later that it was closed. At that moment it didn't matter to me because I just wished to get out so I jumped. Lots of piece of glass cut at my short fur and skin, some even leaving scars. I just shook myself after I landed and then began running where ever I saw.

Maya shook her head and then returned from her memory, looking great fully to her tail as it waved.

☾ ZODIAC ☽
gender: female role: the hatred age: three years aliases: zoe, dia love interest: possibly glitch words: 555
tags: whistle, ulfric, glitch mentions: the rest of the pack

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
It wasn’t like Zodiac had ever cared for the whole of the pack, or any part of the pack to be honest, but food and shelter were a welcome benefit of said gang of dogs. She hated starving and she hated when her soft, glossy fur became matted with water and debris when she had little to no shelter. Ulfric was not so bad in and of himself, for she seemed to understand the alpha in a manner that drew her to his presence. He was cruel hearted and temperamental and she admired him for said traits but she disliked him just as she did everyone else. When he had gathered the pack together she already assumed he was leaving that’s fine, it’s not like I was planning to stay forever though a slight disappointment seemed to bubble in her stomach. She was already bitter for lack of food and a minuscule amount of sleep the last couple days, along with the stress and nervousness that had spread through the pack in regards to the epidemic that had spread through the city. In fact, as she lifted her muzzle, she could smell the stench of death heavy in the city air as it wafted across the pavement and through the darkened alleyways.

Ulfric seemed to stare hard and long at the pack and as he spoke, she barely heard a single word that ushered itself from his maw. Beside her she heard the muffled voice of Whistle as she spoke coldly, (angrily perhaps?) at Ulfric. It wasn’t until her name slid smoothly from the leader’s tongue that her head snapped up, tendons popping, ripped and scrappy ears slapping against her head. She was chosen to follow? But what skill set did the hateful fae present to the pack? She despised the air that they breathed, the pavement that they walked upon. She would kill any to spare her own life so why, in the name of Fenris, was she chosen? She stared wide eyed at the leader, her tail stiff, ears erect. Did she have questions? Of course she did! Surely he had chosen her by mistake, it had to have been a mistake. But as the others seemed to pace forward, she felt her paws and legs tense and with robotic movements she took several steps forward. When Whistle’s eyes grazed her darkened fur she turned with a raise of her jowl, canine exposed in a threatening manner.

The moment glitch spoke she broke her angry stare from Whistle and turned a calmer one to him. The one dog she didn’t hate in the pack, for he was evil, conniving like her but in a less than obvious manner. Zodiac was straight out with her hate, she made it known and she was not ashamed, for her hate spread like the plague in a manner of moments when situations became heated. She would tear apart flesh without blinking an eye and perhaps even celebrate the event. She had scars to prove for her battles, she had every right to claim she was the best fighter, but so did he. At first glance a stray may see him as weak and vulnerable, but his mind snapped on and off like a switch to which she could relate, but her switch… it was always on.

BENJY
tags: Zodiac, Whistle, Tay, Ulfric, Glitch, Tonraq, Maya
status: in the city with the dogs chosen by Ulfric

Benjy glanced from side to side at the dogs assembled, and couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. Ulfric, the leader of the biggest stray gang in the city, of course was approaching something closer to Benjy's level, but the rest of these dogs...? That small pit bull didn't even look like she could fight, not to mention those two over there missing an eye and a leg respectively. Then again, Benjy could understand the difficulty of finding suitable companions in a world such as the one they lived in, so he magnanimously tolerated the presence of the other dogs milling about until Ulfric began to speak.

Benjy intently paid attention to the first few sentences of Ulfric's talk, but soon grew bored and let his attention drift away. Surely, the gang leader was exaggerating the dangers of this journey. Perhaps for canines of a lower caliber, it would be a difficult trek, but Benjy had no doubt that for him personally it would be quite easy, pleasant even. Why wouldn't it be? All the skills involved-- fighting, scavenging for food... they were all things that Benjy excelled at. He could not foresee a problem, and so saw no value in continuing to pay attention to Ulfric. He watched in mild interest as a few dogs challenged the gang leader and others offered questions, but none of it really penetrated his mind as he simply impatiently waited for the group to start doing something besides bicker with one another about technicalities that didn't involve him, Benjy, and thus should be irrelevant.

Danika didn't mean to stumble upon the group... Wait no, gang, of strays. She was just so hungry, so tired, so scared. Her once soft and lush pet dog fur had become slick with sweat and rain, and had matted in the hot sun and in the cold night. Her paws, that were once so delicate, we're now raw and calloused. Her eyes were tired and drooping from lack of sleep in the night full of nightmares and constant running from danger. Her skin clung to her bones, in a most odd manner, making her look like a living skeleton in the light of the night. She was just so desperate, for love, for company, for food. That's how somehow, as unfortunate as her luck was, she managed to crash right into a small female pitbull, in the middle of the gang Leader's conversation with the rest of the gang.

"Oh, um, s-sorry ma'm...", she grunted awkwardly when she hit the pale-colored female. Being so thin and small, she tipped over and fell at the small pitbull's feet, and gave a little whimper. Being klutzy like she was certainly wouldn't help the situation. Not to mention, pitbulls weren't exactly known for being nice and forgiving to others bumping into them from where Danika was from. But maybe, just maybe, the pretty female would pity her, and maybe try to help. A bit dazed from her fall, she glanced around the alley for a moment. Big dogs mostly made up the little pack that seemed to be forming under the night sky. A large Great-Dane brute, presumably the leader from what Danika was seeing, was in the middle of the gang next to the female she was lying at the feet of. He seemed to be discussing something with an awfully grumpy large female, and another tan-colored pitbull nearby, who seemed to be male. Realizing she probably just crashed an important meeting in the intimidating group, she turned her head up towards the female pitbull and prayed silently for mercy from the little, but intimidating pitbull.

"Um... Hello... M-my n-n-name is D-Danika... P-pleased to m-meet you, um, ma'am...", she stuttered shyly, and gave an awkward, but friendly smile.

BENJY
tags: Danika + everyone
status: meeting Danika (future crush) for the first time

Benjy pricked his ears as finally, something interesting happened, although it wasn't what he had expected: suddenly, another dog was in the picture, crashing into the pit-bull Benjy only knew as Ulfric's mate. If Benjy had been paying attention, he would have heard her coming before he even saw her, for her breathing and incautious footsteps were both quite audible. In a sharp contrast to the rest of the group, she didn't seem in very good physical shape, stumbling all over and eventually collapsing to the feet of the other dog. She looked soft, like a lost house pet, an occurrence that became more and more common as more and more of the human folk succumbed to the human-strangeness that overtook the city. Benjy noticed that her ribs were showing, and her fur was matted and bedraggled, not exactly the picture of canine health.

Yet despite that, for some reason, the thought popped into his head that if she had ever been in a better physical condition, she must have been a very beautiful dog. Even though her fur was matted, it still had a distinctive pattern of silvery-white with some black markings that gave her face an interesting aspect, and her eyes were quite something as well. Rather than the dark brown of most dogs, they were light, holding a soft and frightened look. Danika...? What an interesting name.

Benjy regarded the newcomer with a sort of detached interest, waiting to see what would happen. Some of the roughs around here might be inclined to tear the weakling to pieces, or send her packing. But Benjy, to his surprise, found that he would rather like for her to stick around, wanting to know her story and see if she had any hidden skills (they would have to be hidden, for when simply looking at her one could detect no talent whatsoever, but who knows?) Maybe she was even a member of the group, or else seeking to become a member and escape the city, that was a desirable goal that many dogs must want.

He decided that if other dogs tried to chase her off against her will, he would take her side. Why not? He didn't particularly like anyone here. He thought he could take any of them down easily in a fight, save for perhaps Ulfric.

The small cream pit-bull took a step back looking at the she-dog that bumped into her.This...Danika seems really weak and skinny.Maya could bet she didn't ate for a while by the look of things. Danika looked like a house dog and with all these things going on she probably lost her owners.

It didn't feel like this mostly white she-dog should go away because the poor thing would be helpless on her own.A house dog can't survive on it's own even it there were normal conditions and not this madness going on."Oh you poor thing!"The female looked at Danika and the other dogs then turned her glare to Ulfric."We can't live her on her own.She won't survive.Just look at how skinny and weak she is." Maya let her body down to stand near the weak dog, inspecting her. Looked like she must have been a beautiful dog. Even though her fur was matted, it still had a distinctive pattern that gave her face an interesting aspect.
